Especially because Bo Diaz is no longer alive.

How about Bo Jackson? Or even better, Bones Jackson?

How about Maim Zitsky? Skinsomemore, Skingross, Wreckin, et. al.

how crazy is it that Hartnell B Schenn and Simmonds has really been their best line lately

Hartnell together with Simmonds just sounds like a fail, given they both kind of bring the same skills to the line

- Marc D

You could do worse than have three guys of above-average skill level willing to crash the net and work the boards, right?

Simmonds is driving that line... dude is playing out of his mind.

I said this before he was traded, that his game was fading..he was less engaged physically and his offense was regressing...

Mike Richards
6G 24A - 30 PTS +/- 0 - 40 Hits

B Schenn
13G 17A - 30 PTS +4 - 102 Hits

W Simmonds
16G 19A - 35 PTS -3 - 71 Hits

I don't think he was ever really the same after the booth hit almost like he was gun shy.

I still can't figure out why we have rosehill playing and not Gagne...I wonder if that bridge is completely burned...but if we wanted a defensively sound 4th line that could chip in, i would have him on it...

Agreed. He stopped flying around like a madman at that point.

I can't really blame him. He seriously could have killed him.

At what point do we say this is really simmonds game? Hes the only one in the Richie/carts deals that has 'exceeded' expectations every season.

I think Ghost has a shot, although Barber and Gaudreau are also good shots.

only Gaudreau and Hutton ahead of him. He has a good shot at it

Gagne isn't really a 4th line guy. You need to remember that 4th lines will, often, be matched up against each other. Do you really want to see Gagne constantly matching up against other team's enforcers and agitators?

If they make the playoffs I am ok with it, as that stuff is usually kept to a minimum...and if games go to OT, i don't want rosekill having to take minutes if guys are gassed...

Maybe, but the return from those deals has been (mostly) pretty good.

The way Simmonds is playing currently.....I didn't see that coming.

Absolutely. He may have lost a step, but could still skate circles around those guys.

It's also funny that so far in this century (14 winners so far), only 3 Hobey Baker winners have become legitimate NHL players. Jordan Leopald, Matt Carle, and Ryan Miller.

I personally like Ovechkins game better. Or Stamkos. I don't trust Crosby's health to be honest.

Let me clarify. Crosby is the best player, but I would weigh the amount he is better against his health. If he is better for an average of 65 games a year, yes give me Ovechkin or Stamkos over him.

- youarewrong

Keep in mind..... Stamkos is not. I repeat. Is not a 50-60 goal scorer without St.Louis. He needs an elite playmaker to play with.

I can't believe anyone would take Ovechkin over Crosby. I'll take my chances with his injury history.

Completely not true. Voracek exceeded what was expected of him. Its just after we saw him exceed the initial expectations, we kept raising the expectations. And Schenn and Couturier were rookies. At the time you only set career expectations on them. You cant expect them to be top level players day 1. IMO they are progress above expectations at this point.

Agreed. Ovechkin is probably the more exciting/explosive player, but Crosby's overall game is way better. He's made Chris Kunitz, CHRIS KUNITZ, a Team Canada member.

Voracek, B. Schenn, MAB, Meszaros, 2 1sts for Shea Weber? I heard a rumor some time back that's a possible deal. Any truth?

Flyers really did make a killing on the carts richie deals IMO. At the time I didn't expect Wayne to be this good.... But after:

28 goals a couple seasons ago.... 15 in a shortened season..... 16 this season?

The guy has been doing this for 3 seasons now - he's made me a believer that this is what we should 'expect' from simmonds. He's a beast!

Guy might not have top end speed but his acceleration might be tops on the team. Can only count on maybe 1 hand the games that simmonds didn't seem engaged in.
