I thought we needed a call-up with Maclaren hitting the IR? I'm not saying bring Abbott up to play with Kessel. Can't hurt having him fourth line. Plus player with a few points. |

Abbott isn't a career AHLer, at least not yet.
He was signed as a free agent after he finished playing in the University leagues. (the exact same way we got Bozak)
This is only his second year in the pro leagues and he has 37 points in 34 games and he currently sits 4th in AHL scoring.

He was pretty impressive in college. Watched him play a couple times, he scored 5 goals in those two games I saw. His problem is that he's pretty small. Wouldn't mind seeing him get his chance though. |

regarding Dave Bolland
2 things
-the leafs better not extend him before they see him play again
-and there is a chance he is not the same as he was before the injury
we need to temper our expectations of him returning

people dont seem to understand that this kind of injury could actually end a career.
he hasnt been able to work out (especially the legs) during this time off either.
he is going to be so far behind when he gets back.. might even be a healthy scratch from time to time |
