the blues are trying to win the cup, why would they want to downgrade their goalie... - sensnucksnocups
Miller >>>>>> Halak, which is why Halak for Miller makes no sense for Buffalo. |

I would agree, but we have so much depth we could afford it. I don't see Buffalo really wanting Halak personally and at this point all he is really worth is a pick. Trading him to Wash for a 2nd would make sense to get him off the books. Then you give Stewart or Berglund to Buffalo for Miller, that is of coarse if we can get a guarantee that he signs an extension with us. - cuethenoise
Halak & Stewart or Berglund for Miller is what it boils down to.
No thanks.

Halak gets traded for prospect/picks. Blues send prospect/picks to Buffalo with Paajarvi (1.2mil hit). Buffalo eats the remaining 1.3mil and gets a couple prospects and/or picks for their future.
Done. - bluenoter
I could maybe see something like this. Still don't like moving any of our roster players though. |

Yeah well either way Halak walks in the summer and Berglund and Stewart are both streaky as hell. |

If he was going in a trade to Buffalo, there would be picks/prospects in return. He is an UFA at the end of the year, so it would essentially be like eating salary/cap if they didn't want Halak past this year.
Plus, if Buffalo trades Miller, they are going to need another goalie right? Or do they have someone in the minors that they are ready to come up and play? |

Ok. That still doesn't make it a good deal. The Blues don't need to mess with their roster. If they do, it better be a good deal for the Blues. |

If Miller gets traded, they'll call up Hackett from the minors and play Enroth/hackett for the balance of the season. |

The point of a rebuild is to get rid of old guys and give young guys experience and then in turn loose a lot of games and get high draft picks. Makes sense to me |

I don't see the Blues getting rid of Elliott and Halak this year. If we did land Miller and something happened that would be a lot to ask of Allen at this point in his career. |

Butler for Miller straight up. Buffalo gets a d man and calgary gets a goalie. Throw in Myers and Calgary throws in Stajan and next year it will be Calgary Buffalo for the cup. |

Steen is coming back. It won't work once LTIR is gone, which will be soon. |

If Miller ends up on StL, and signs an extension there...
They will win multiple Cups over the next 5-6years
And I'm ok with that
Miller deserves to have a team that can actually play defense and score a few goals in front of him
