Personally I still wouldn't do it if I'm Edmonton. Ward comes with too much risk to give up a top line player. Gagner for Ward+ is possible, but if I'm trading one the big four then I want the package above and a 1st.

Perron or Gagne would be the players JR would want as he is trying to off load big contract players who underperform.

Spector:Tuomo Ruutu is in play. He has a no-trade clause but is willing to work with the Hurricanes.
Any team interested in Ward better be prepared to make a strong offer. Jim Rutherford won’t just give him away. He won’t want a package of picks, unproven youth and prospects. Ward would also have to waive his no-trade clause
Ugg, that would not even be a wash ( no pun intended ). Ru is not going to bring back much, but if we are going to move him, lets get something we can actually use. Plus, hasnt Erat demanded trades from two different places in the last year?
