what about Cammalieri to St. Louis for Ty Rattie and a conditional 2nd round pick? Conditions being either him resigning with the Blues or meeting certain performance standards for the playoffs. Ty Rattie would be a good fit for Calgary, he has top 6 potential as well as a previous experience with Sven Baertschi in Portland. He's also from Calgary so thats a plus and St. Louis gets a scoring boost for the playoff run. What do you guys think?

I'd love to see Rattie here.....but I don't if I see the fit between St.Louis and Cammy. Seems like St.Louis has enough talent up front, then again you could say the same about their blue line. I think if St.Louis does anything it will be more tinkering rather than bring in a guy like Cammy. If they did want him I think that is a very fair deal.

If I were to bet on it...Id say Cammy to LA. I see a fit with the Ducks, but I think a team like LA makes the push.

Anyone else go to/watch the prospects game last night???

I went to it. I think Reinhart is actually slightly underrated. I like his demeanour, I hope the Flames get him.

I was also impressed with Dal Colle. He's a big strong player with an absolute laser.

Fluery also looked great....if the Flames could get another late first rounder I would target him.

Brayden Point is super small....and Burkey will never draft him. But he has sick mitts.....would be a good second round pick.

I think Rattie is Chris Stewarts replacement in that lineup once his contract is up and he prices himself out of town.

I honestly don't even know who I want the Flames to target in this draft class at this point... Ideally I'd like them to take either a big, mobile, physical defenseman, or a hard nosed offensively gifted right winger, but I don't know who the best fit is for either of those.

My drafting theory is always best player available...stack the chips.

EDIT: Unless you are lucky enough to get 3 first overall picks in a row *cough oilers cough*

I agree when there's an obvious front runner, you take him. The thing about this year is that there really doesn't seem to be a standout. There's 4-5 guys that are all about the same quality so you can kind of draft by positional need and still not sacrifice anything quality wise.

If you were Burke would you make a play for Kadri?

If so, what would you offer?

agreed!

If you want a big scoring winger Dal Colle looked awesome last night.

I also liked Nick Ritchie....Blake Wheeler type although I think the Flames pick will be too high for him. He'll likely go around 10

I'm still hoping for Ekblad, but I don't see him making it past the Oilers.

Haha....no you are probably right.

What about maybe Glencross straight up? I'm not sure what the Leafs are looking for to be honest.

Again, exactly what would we get from LA? there's nothing there prospect wise and they won't move their core. At best you get an iffy prospect and a first or some fourth line plug and a first. It fits for LA but not Calgary.

I would think the Oilers will be ahead of the Flames come seasons end.....but once Gaudreau gets here that all might change

Nothing but if LA wins? it's a bad first, that and i'm betting Burke could get a first out of almost any GM. I'd say a prospect that will make a more immediate impact is more important than another draft pick. Same reason I don't get why the Oilers would keep their pick. I know it's going to be (most likely) top 3 but at the same time, think of the kind of player you can get with a top 3 pick, I mean NJ got Schneider for a 9th overall straight up.

Either way i'd rather see a Bennett or a Coyle or even a Bjugstad than a crap player and a low 1st. To be fair last year we got some decent picks with the lower firsts but those guys won't be on the team for at least another full season if Burke has his way.

My 1st choice is still Ekblad. I know some on here are concerned he's more Jack Johnson than Drew Daughty but a potential Johnson is still better than anything we currently have in the stable. No offense to Seiloff or Wotherspoon but neither really projects as a potential #1.

It feels like a 'more darts at the board'board' type of draft. So I wouldn't be opposed to trading down and picking up an extra 1st & 2nd. Or a prospect. Grab a guy like Virtanen and a couple of other guys.
