His athletic abilities are there but I question hockey sense/intelligence from what I saw at the world juniors. Hope I'm wrong and would still be fine getting him. I just think we need a good centre prospect with size.
If we get ekblad I agree he should be in junior. Nurse should get his 9 games and back to junior. - ystoil
I don't know that we need a another young forward. I'd rather draft Ekblad and sign Stasny after we trade Gags |

Ummmm....
I am responding to Henderson's ridiculous claims of Scriven's superior save % over Quick as well as Hasek in another post....
How does that have me claiming everyone thinks he is going to change the team?
You Edmonton folk don't have a strong grasp on comprehension, do you? - Cooshie

The fact is the Oil did improve with this trade related to the Goalies, yes the Oil have a weak D and yes L.A have a strong D,fact is Ben Scrivens comes with better numbers and Dub is going out with the worst numbers, can Ben Scrivens keep the same numbers playing for the Oil hmmm I don't know, you don't know, all I know is One Goalie do have better numbers then the other and that's a fact. |

You do realize you have to trade players to get players right? How are you planning to get Anisimov, Bolland and one of those 3 goalies without giving up anybody from the top two lines? - SolidGoldBricks
Anisimov is the only player there under contract. I'm sure we could put something together involving players that aren't top 6 forwards |

Im gonna answer your question and make it easy for you.
This trade saved Dubnyks career. Or at the very least, will give him a chance to make okay money next season. He will rebound and show he is a capable backup goalie and perhaps even a starter on a good team defensively. If he continued in Edm, he would've been lucky to sign somewhere as a backup. Now, he has a chance to keep a 1-way contract for next year.
As for Scrivens....yikes. Tough team to play behind... The Oilers defense is horrid...I sure hope he can make it thru this until the team improves. Maybe he can get hot and put some confidence in his team...but I don't like his chances. |

Does anyone really think the Oilers could have made themselves better by making only one trade? They need a few key pieces to improve overall and that takes time. These trades are a step in the right direction. Not a huge step but a step nonetheless. |

The fact that Dubnyk gives up soft goals every second period is what will kill his career more than the fact he played for the Oilers. He gives up the goals that Patrick Lalime used to give up in Games 4-7 for the Sens vs the Leafs in the playoffs during the eary 00's. |

Right, two trades should be the solution. Why can't MacT make it happen in just two trades? |

Small improvements. The players the Oilers already have are the only ones that can make the huge steps that people want. A trade for Weber, Lucic, or any other of Cloutiers hopefuls won't happen. So it has to be improved play from the players on the roster. |

Although I guess when you have years and years of first picks you can start sacrificing them hahaha. - SolidGoldBricks
Hilarious you asked this. I was about to ask the same thing and then I just assumed that Jeropotato is always drunk. |

I just remember him constantly saying the Oilers were going to trade for Weber or Lucic or some other player that would cost a kings ransom to acquire. But he thought Hemsky, Eberle and a 1st would be enough for Weber. Or Gagner, Omark and a 2nd would get Lucic. |

I find it odd that he would trash hockeybuzz if he did. Without hockeybuzz there is no Puckrant. |
