I'm still astonished that someone would possibly believe the oilers could have cap problems within the next three years before Hendricks contract expires.

I'm even more astonished anyone could possibly believe that the oilers will be in a deep and unsolvable cap position over a matter of overpaying Hendricks by 900k.

There is but one objection to the deal, and it is if you believe that Hendricks is not good enough to be a 4th liner on the oilers.

Everything else is nonsense.

not about the cap. fans just hoped edm has learned from belanger, eager, smithson, etc. that 4th liners shouldn't be held to such a high value or be paid so much

hendricks could be a decent 4th liner but not at the cost of, imo, edm's best goalie

I won't lie. I'll be disappointed if we keep the pick and don't get Ekblad. But I want him to spend next year in junior regardless. I'd rather keep Nurse in junior for another year as well and insulate our kids with some free agents this year. Hopefully give Klefbom and Gernat big minutes in OKC next year. If not use one as trade bait.

His athletic abilities are there but I question hockey sense/intelligence from what I saw at the world juniors. Hope I'm wrong and would still be fine getting him. I just think we need a good centre prospect with size.

edm doesn't really need another left handed dman prospect. if you could turn klefbom++ into for maybe kulikov or maybe killorn out of tampa with their C depth
