How does EDM get Scrivens for only a 3rd round pick?
That basically means that the leafs grabbed Bernier for Frattin and a 3rd. LA is getting hosed in these trades. - Holy_Makinaw99
L.A probably felt they had 3 starting goalies, one had to go and I don't blame them for keeping Jones over scrivens.
Goalies don't cost nearly as much as players. Look at what we gave up to get Bernier. |

i suppose i may have assumed abit from the little ive seen.
maybe our definition of bluechip is different.
either way, brossoit is a better prospect than bunz or roy. so we improved in that area. - hugefemale dog77
As far as I know Bluechip means a surefire, can`t miss, prospect. One that is guaranteed to have success in the NHL. |

At least the Oilers didn't sign Clarkson for 5.25 Million for 7 years. |

It's only because Clarkson was set on only signing in Toronto. |

It'll be interesting to see if Dubnyk is still terrible with six NHL caliber defensemen in front of him instead of 1 or 2. |

his point makes sense - hugefemale dog77
For next year. This year is done obviously. I think if you guys don't get some sort of veteran goalie next year you'll be in the basement again. Scrivens as your starter is a huge question mark. |

Another year in the basement. That's why you go after a vet goalie. - Cheeseballin
Who is out there right now that has no NTC/NMC that would come here and take us out of the basement? |

You gotta think that a core player gets traded if they suck next year as well. |

I'll bet he wishes he had signed in Edmonton and would be playing along Eberle, Nuge instead of Kulemin and whoever RC throws out there with him.... |

No kidding. To be fair, Mac T also wanted Schneider and Coburn and made an offer for both. |

Yeah, he does't fit a rush, finesse team like the Leafs IMO, he'd be much better suited on one of the many Western teams that like to dump and chase and generate off of the cycle. There's teams like that in the East as well of course. |

That's what I thought would happen this year. The years really do seem to be racing by with this franchise with the progress in slow motion. |

Yeah, it's not a bad return, especially if Frattin turns out to be a decent 3rd liner at some point for them. |

In other words Roy and Bunz are green apple splatters and Brossoit is a solid BM. Either way our goaltending is a long way from smelling like roses. |

Elliot isn't the answer. Hiller might be, but I suspect ANA keeps him and moves Fasth. |
