Dubnyk was just traded to Nashville for Hendricks.

Such a bad trade IMO. Dub is worth way more than Hendricks. No question about it. Bryz might not even be on this planet after this season.

Ummm. No he isn't. Have you seen him play. He's a backup goalie and EDM finally realized it and knew they weren't going to resign him...part ways and get something while you still can. Goalies never fetch as big a return as you think...

I wonder if they have another line in the water though for a goalie...

As surprising as it might sound, coming from a Rumor reporter, I FULLY respect a guy who comes out and puts a rumor to bed in such a manor. There are many times a GM will deny something or scoff at something and it still ends up happening, but saying no chance in hell is the way to do it. Especially because it shows the team the faith you have in their teammate.

Winnipeg could learn a little from this...

Rinne not being named to Finland now this trades raises some red flags about his injury.

No it doesn't. He's just been cleared for a bit more physicality in his workouts. No one expects to see him before March, and even that is dicey. Nothing Poile hasn't known for awhile.

Poile should have acquired a goalie with more than one game of NHL experience before the season started. Having Hutton to backup Rinne post operation was a HUGE mistake on his part, and it's been showing.

I don't know if Dubnyk is the answer, but he's a better placeholder than Hutton until we get Rinne back... next season.

Yeah, my post was more about the red flags for Rinne this season and not long-term, I'm assuming this trade pretty much puts the nail in the coffin on his return this year.

But one trailblazer, one voice in the wilderness (Eklund) is raising the stakes and putting himself out there saying NO! Trading for a 4th liner will not be the only move the Oilers make! Bravo Ek...
