Buff doesn't need supporters. He outweighs the naysayers by himself.

The flyers want a new Pronger for obvious reasons.. While Buff has the offensive skillset to fill that part of the role.. and his physically big enough to clear the rabble out in front of his own net... he just doesn't put the whole package together enough to reliably help the team. Takes too many games off, gambles when she shouldn't and just is not the right fit for philly unless his work ethic changes considerably.

I will believe these rumors when something actually happens. Ive been reading for weeks about Miller leaving Buffalo and Buff leaving Winnipeg but yet nothing has happened. Money is that nothing big is going to happen till after the Olympics

Watched Buff for years...the biggest issue I see on the Jets with him...none of their forwards rotate back around to cover him. They leave it for a 2 on 1 the opposite way and blame the fat guy.

Almost every top team in the league, when their D makes a rush, they have a system in place to cover him, not just send 4 guys on the attack and ignore the 1 defender you have left.

Maybe that was Noel...we'll see.

Clearing the porch isn't the Flyers' D's problem. Grossmann is a tank and good at it. Schenn does it pretty well, too. What they lack is a top-3 caliber two-way Dman with mobility.

True but this is the Flyers we are talking about and Holmgren does what Holmgren wants lol

looks like Couts is still a bit underwhelming offensively... how long until Philly gives up on him?
- Feeling Glucky?

They won't be giving up on him. Several times now over the course of 2 years, we've had to chance to trade him as part of a package for elite, super-star players and we haven't. Says all you need to know there.

I agree Bill, not to mention the lack of speed on both the forwards and defense. Doesn't it drive you nuts when the Flyers get a turnover in the neutral zone or high in their defensive zone, go to transition, and get caught by opposing back checking? Ugh!!

Since when is Buff a clearer of anything except the buffet? Give me a break with this guy already. Overpaid and overrated... I can think of a few players they can go after to fill that spot. Go after Radko Gudas if you can get him. Buff is simply not worth what it would take!

"I hear there has been some internal debate about Dustin Byfuglien, but I believe the Buff supporters are outweighing the naysayers".

Isn't everything about Buff outweighing something?

Gardiner is a bum defensively and has shown nothing but FLAHSES of good play

If you want Couturier, it's going to cost ya Also, if you've watched the Flyers play this year, you'd know he's taken on a much larger role offensively, and has been given more time than Lavi used to give him. His puck protection and play down low would be a notch above every player aside from MAYBE JVR, and only due to his comparable size to Couts.

Couts and B. Schenn were asked by David Poile in the Weber "trade talks" before the offer-sheet was given.

Phoenix wanted Couturier/Schenn as part of a potential deal that would have sent Yandle to Philly.
