When I saw him walking around the concourse in Rockford last week, he didn't look hurt.

I have this feeling that there isn't going to be anyone recalled from Rockford until someone else comes up injured.
- EKolb13

I would agree with that UNLESS Handzus continues to be a non factor. Then you may see somebody up. Who the hell knows.....

Anyone down there off the radar looking good? I need to get to a game. I may see the next time Rockford is in Des Moines, as I travel to DM far too often for work.

I don't think so. He went kind of funny into the boards on 12/30. It appeared (at least to me) that it was a leg, so I think it might be a lower body injury.

Both Nordstrom and Morin would be at the top of my list - both have been working their asses off as of late. Pirri had been slumping and demoted to 3rd line duty before he came up injured. I would think he'd need a little bit of time before being in consideration, but that's up to the organization - who the hell knows what they want?

To a lesser degree, if the organization wanted to do something different and look at someone else altogether, I would say that Winchester, Terry Broadhurst, Ross and McNeill might be worth a look if the Hawks need an emergency call up for a game.

Pirri had a chance to stick with the team and after a decent start wasn’t able to maintain his production. While he has good hands, a good shot and has very good hockey smarts he is only an average skater and he is just adequate defensively though he was improving. Unless his defensive game is really improving in Rockford I don’t see much chance of a promotion to the Hawks unless it’s as an injury replacement.

Yeah But do you think Doughty, Regher, Greene and Voynyov are > Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Boumeister & Leopold.....? Not so sure on that one.
- yahoodi

No, I don't. But both of those teams play some very tight defense, and sometimes it takes somebody with high-end skills to make a difference in their games. LA has handled the Blues pretty well over the past few years, and that is my theory as to why. What do you think is the reason? That's not to be a Richard; I'm interested in your opinion.

Hi Eli. How has Denault looked? He's a guy some thought could make the Hawks to start the season, but I haven't heard much about him lately and noticed he wasn't in your list.

I still love Danault.

How he does at the dot has been his biggest issue. However, he has good instincts, he's fearless - willing to go to the net and not afraid of board battles. He seems to have the makings for a decent two way game - he's still working out the rough edges there.

Overall, he needs time to round everything out. Also, if he can't improve what he does when taking faceoffs, he might be more of a wing in the NHL than a center.

I do love how he gets under the opposition's skin. He's a pest. He reminds me of Bolland.

Back to the original title in the thread, there is no possible way the hawks trade teravanen. Think about an organizations that now prides itself on drafting and building s going to trade arguably the best prospect in the world ? No way. If I were Stan bowman I would offer kevin cheveldayoff Adam Clendening, Ivan vishnevskiy and drew Leblanc for Ladd. In other words exactly what Chevy gave us plus a guy we signed on a whim last April. The end !!

Presumably, when they sent him down he was given a checklist of things to work on and improve just like any other player who is on the threshold of making and staying in the NHL. I still believe the Hawks feel he is a 'decent' prospect for them or at least a trade chip that can bring something back more than a roll of tuck tape.

And who knows, on 2 shifts last night Martin Hanzel personally destroyed 3 of the Canuck forwards - Henrick, Santorelli and Booth. Maybe Gillis will be extremely desperate and give us their #1 draft choice and Kesler so he can get his hands on Pirri.

Probably would never happen in 100000000 years, but Callahan is on Ek's rumor chart as a potential trade target.

Man, now there is a guy that's worth a TT in my book. I love Callahan's game.

I would certainly hope that's what the Hawks did and do!

I find it amusing that that same people who want Zus run out of town on a rail because of his skating want to see Pirri and Morin, both average skaters, promoted to the Hawks' lineup.

Zus has been playing the same way ever since I can remember him with St.Louis and Philadelphia, which is to say a guy with very little speed but one who gets in the opponent's way, makes some very good hockey plays and occasionally lays his big frame on some defenceman. And I think that's the reason Q likes him because he knows how to play the NHL game. Like a very average middle inning reliever, Zus is munching minutes for the Hawks cost effectively during a long regular season.

Pirri and Morin - just as popular with fans as the 2nd string quarterback who they think would be much better than the starter who is playing ahead of them. Until they prove otherwise for an extended period of time they are minor leaguers to me.

Oh, I know he's hurt.....my point is the reasoning for sending back down was ridiculous.

At least they moved Saad up to Kane's line and put Bickell where he belongs.

For a guy who gave himself a self imposed bad on all things (except trade proposals) about a certain RFD prospect.....the comments made this morning are making it very difficult....3 days...I need to call my sponsor.....where is HawkintheD?

Well, we've got a couple interesting games coming up. Perhaps I'm just trying to get up for the games myself, but I think we're going to see strong efforts from the Hawks in both games. The Ducks are a serious Cup contender who are smokin' hot and have done well against the Hawks in the past few years. I believe that's gonna cause the Hawks motivation level to be high, much like the hot Kings came to town and got waxed. The Hawks know the Bruins are gonna be sky-high to play on Sunday, and I think the Hawks know they have to bring it.

I don't mean that these two games are an indicator of how they'd do against each other in a playoff series or that these are statement games. Just a couple factors that could and should affect the intensity level for these games. I am looking forward to these two.

Diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety brought on by negative reaction to his play on the Blackhawks page on Hockey Buzz. Has been receiving in-patient treatment from Dr. Drew; we'll see how it goes.

I think both the Hawks and Ducks will come out flying tonight, both sides will have motivation. Key tonight for us is to score first. That is a must. No more falling behind. Secondary keys are a strong performance(preferably a goal or 2) from Kaner, and NO PENALTIES against a team that just went 7 for 8 on the PP. If all 3 of those things happen, i'd bet u my life that we win. Game of the year so far. Im jacked!

I dont know haha. I guess i dont see enough Rangers hockey to really have an opinion. Last i remember being somewhat impressed by him was the last olympics when he was a pretty damn good Pk guy. I know he would help the team right now, but is it worth TT? I dont know, come to think of it, yes he is. I want to see the Hawks repeat so if it means giving up TT then so be it.
