This I'm not sure why it always has to come down to with some that it is a personal issue and that the decision solely lies with Q. Commentators and others including those in the business have given kudos to the Hawks organization for being one of the best at evaluating talent and scouting players. What is so hard to grasp here? If a player is not up with the club it is because a number of people came together and, for better or worse, made the decision.
- rtang415

Isn't that what some people are arguing? Whether it's better or worse?

Stan said all off and pre-season was that the plan was to have the kids play. Just one kid is playing. And Q is riding his veterans. And that would be fine if e was playing ALL his veterans. Kris Versteeg played all of 8 minutes despite being 100% Corsi. 100 percent! While Kris Versteeg was on the ice the Blackhawks shot 12 shots on Varlarmov and not a single shot was registered against Crawford, and yet he rides the pine. Same with Bickell. Which is strange because if you're at these games ( And I've been fortunate to be...) Bickell has been really good on the forecheck. But that hasn't prevented him from going into Q's doghouse.

I think overriding the veterans might prove harmful come April. Of course, I can't prove that until the playoffs.

There was a unanimous feeling among this board that Q should pick some players and stick with them. We argued over who those players should be....Nordstrom, Pirri, Morin.. but they're all in Rockford. Morin is still one of the best hawks in CORSI and drawing penalties, which you think a team based on puck possession and a good PP might want.....Nope. Patrick Kane had his best stretch this year with Pirri as his centerman......nope. Nordstrom had a deer in the headlights look with the Hawks, but from all reports he seem to be excelling at the Rock. But they sit while Handzus wheezes and Bickell and Steeger's ice time melts faster than ice in the sun.

Yes, of course it's not all on Q. But I think we're allowed to have an opinion on whether they're the right moves or not....

Just walked past Bickell on the street with his dad.

Were I not afraid of being tossed over the bridge into the Chicago river, I would have asked him where playoff Bickell went?

- teh_HAWKZ

Haha nice! Bickell is actually an incredibly nice guy - met him about half a dozen times throughout his time with the Hawks and he always hangs around to talk to, take pictures, etc. with EVERY fan that wants to.. I'm sure he wouldn't take your question too personally. Nobody is harder on these athletes than themselves

Crawford I think is more serious. he just looks uncomfortable.

- SteveRain

You would be too if you had that bunch playing in front of you the way they have since the New Year. The no look blind pass club has been living up to its name.

He's healthy - the team D is what is on IR right now.

I bet a few of my friends that the USA wont' even medal. I hope I'm wrong, but I think that team is royally flawed.

If I were Canadian, I think Sweden is your toughest competition. Unless Vrlamov gets hot...the thought of all those fast Ruskies flying down the wing on a large ice surface is going to make hate Brooks Orpik that much more.

- SteveRain

Bylsma will make sure he has Orpik out against Jagr and the swift Peter Nedved when they play the Czechs.

I looked at what USA has down the middle of the ice and decided they would be better off staying at home ... or playing 2 goaltenders at once. Don't like their team at all.

Have always heard similar things about him. I will stand with Bickell and go down with the ship if need be. That said, time to crank it up, Big Boy....

I'll say it...I think the Hawks overpaid for him. I also think that the Hawks couldn't let him walk after his playoff run, the cup win, based upon letting another large bodied enigma go after being a cult hero during the playoffs in 2010.

There are a lot of guys banged up....I think it was BS that article came out about his knee braces. He was out awhile...he'll get another few weeks off here...so we are just going to pretend this crap season doesn't matter because he's still not 100%? Who is?

He needs to be better and if he can't be, then he needs to be rested until he can be a factor. They aren't going to miss THIS Bickell if he's put on IR.

- SteveRain

Maybe Bickel comes off the knee braces come playoff time and pulls a forest gump - and skates like the wind.

Between the state of airline safety in Russia and the recent lack of security I'd have some real concerns about going over there.

oh boy it looks like we have another internet tough guy..........I know its hard to comprehend things without pictures but the Hawks have 3 players they've acquired over the past two seasons on their roster...... whatever the dollar amount Kane & toews sign for will not change anything......because based on them stockpiling draft picks and prospects they will never sign more than 1 or 2 FA's........If this is what you were trying to say then I apologize for not being able to interupt whatever it is your simple mind was trying to convey. As far as the frolik comment to mohel.......I was being serious.....but you went ahead and tried to interpret what I mean......and BTW I appreciate any and all animosity......

I browsed here for a long time and I started posting here a few months back while I am working from home dealing with a critically ill wife. The Hawks are a great distraction. I have learned from a few years in and out of hospitals with her to leave that negative stuff alone. I treat people with respect AND I CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND A SINGLE POST WHERE I AM INSULTING OR MEAN TO ANOTHER POSTER here.

I really don't know why you are even on this thread. As far as being an internet tough guy, you define the term. You are always giving people grief here for their opinions. You didn't invent the game and you do not know management so stop pretending you know any more than any other fan.

I am in the West Suburbs. Feel free to PM me and we can have a friendly, adult discussion any time you would like (OR NOT). Since I am sure you would not be alive treating people in person how you treat people on this thread I am sure it would be civil internet tough guy. Throwing in a post about your kid or how you love dogs does not change the way you treat people here. Maybe your being a D!ck because you're having a bad day. Based on your treatment of many here you have a lot of those.

Do not post to me or about me again unless it is an apology.

With all the heat on Bickell lately I'm hoping he comes out skating like the wind tomorrow. Last year against the Ducks he laid Getzlaf out with a HUGE hit! I wanna see a repeat of that. When he plays more physically he plays far better.

I agree...I don't like their team either. Reading that article by Burnside it reeks with arrogance, and I think they are going to get it shoved up their @ss.

Unless they get another super human performance out of their goaltender. However, the USA depth is no where near the quality it was in 98 or 02.

I think they'll lose or tie Slovakia, and then get SMOKED by Russia.

Bsylma....not a fan of his....at all.
