You're right, it's going to be nice to see Vinny in the top 6 again. Hopefully he gets hot again. I wanted to see him play with G and Jake, but I guess now isn't the time.

Paul Stewart's recent blog about his very first run in with 19-year-old 88... he said hi to the kid, asked him how his parents were, and 88 said "(frank) you, just drop the (frank)ing puck". There's a reason that guy isn't in the HHOF, besides longevity... it's because people need to vote him in, and that player and his family burned a lot of bridges on their way through the NHL.

None of that has anything to do with Lindros's skill or whether or not Crosby is better than Lindros, which he's not. All of that is personal feelings.

Tyler Myers hasn't developed like most people thought he would after winning the Calder, but man, I just saw that dude take a puck from behind the net and rush it up the ice, penetrate the zone, take a shot on Jonathan Bernier and force a faceoff.

I know, I know. You guys are wondering if it is legal for defensemen to do this. While stunning to see if you are a fan of the Flyers, it is legal for defensemen to carry a puck with speed out of their zone and into the opposing team's zone.

It's possible even though it'd be a high cost that they consider moving him if they get the top pick and land Ekblad.

Which would only add to the solid list of prospects they have at that position.

Because I think about this team way too much, I can honestly see that guy doing that in a Flyers uniform. I can literally SEE it.

Dear Lord. Waiting for us to develop a player/players who can do this consistently, with confidence and effectiveness...man.

I don't want to tank. Never want to lose. But my gosh. We need an impact defenseman so bad, and I just don't know when/where that guy is coming from.

As much as I'd want them to land a top pair D, that cost is too much for me. I'd rather just continue to deal with a team that has enough to make playoffs runs why they draft & develop.

It's not a bad position to be in but far better than not being good/decent for years while trying to draft/develop.

I know you're right. Draft and develop. Draft and develop.

Deep breaths. Just gotta try to be patient.

Well said. Using that Jock Sniffer's (as someone on here so eloquently put it) anecdote is a bit of stretch. The man was a force.

2 prospects Jacob Middleton and Aaron Haydon get game misconducts for removing their helmets for fighting.

I get why they did it & why they were kicked out of the game, but not sure why they allow fighting in this top prospects game.

Of course. Did you ever watch Lindros play on the Flyers? Regardless, the numbers don't back up that feeling.

Edit: better could mean a lot of different things.

You can see why Tyler Myers is inconsistent, and why people get frustrated with him.

There was a 50-50 puck in OT, and Myers let himself get bumped off the puck by...Phil Kessel.

You just can't allow that. You just can't.

yes i did. numbers are a tricky thing to compare from different periods, even ten years apart or so. i really dont think there is a wrong answer between the two, as the numbers arent exactly tilting in lindross' favor by any means either. like i said, just by looking at the two, you can tell crosby isnt in the same physical realm as lindross. he is much more of the malkin/ov specimen range. lindross definitely was the better goal scorer with his physical skills. but large scale, i still take crosby by a nose, despite the discrepancy in raw talent.

it sure would be a lot of the time. that call was a little meh, but you shouldnt even be in the position to give them the chance to give them that call. the lack of brain usage is appalling.

Yup, it's a personal preference. And no doubt not surprising most Flyers fans would likely take Lindros and most Pens fans would likely take Crosby given the choice. I know for me, it's no contest. This whole conversation started with someone stating Crosby wasn't just better, but quite a bit better.

Eff. Leafs just strafed Ryan Miller in the shootout, 3 for 3, win again in the skills competition

They leapfrog the Flyers with that.

Somebody tell me the Pens are winning right now
