Because Hamonic and Vis aren't. Not that they wiyld actually bench our next $5 mil man - keaner17
How many other NHL coaches would have benched Amac a couple of times this year? It's fustrating we see other GM's and coaches losing their jobs and it's business as usual with the Isles. |

They are better off playing Finley over Amac. |

I have FIOS and the game was MSGPlus2 and the feed sucked...very disappointing loss...thought when Vanek scored in the 3rd I thought here they come...the shorthanded Florida 4th goal was bad news...btw...AMAC sucks... - kear20

Hopefully Hamonic can get back sooner than later.. I really think the defense struggled with the alternate pairings tonight. Obviously there was more to tonights fail than that, but we need a full roster to compete |

No rush on Hamonic as the season is toast. I agree they need a full roster to compete. I cannot believe this team does not understand they made the playoffs last year because they focused on D and stopped turning over the puck. |

Well, I'm not pulling the plug yet. They ran off several wins in a row and lost ONE game. Win several more and this one means little. |

True but they are not gaining ground and they are fighting too many teams. Plus other teams will be willing to make moves to improve while the Isles cannot even fire a lousy coach. I also think the Isles will have too many slip ups like tonight. They need a hard ass coach to push them. Cappy and this team both get lazy and you see the turnover pop up again and again. |

This. A loss is acceptable after a nice little winning streak. If we can keep winning a few in a row and drop one, it won't be the end of the world. The key is rebounding after tonight and going into Tampa and Philly with some momentum. Still a big hill to climb. |

And even though they lost they had more then enough chances if it wasn't for Thomas standing on his head....we didn't play great, JT was being far to cute with the puck, but if it wasn't for the insane saves by Thomas that was a different outcome...regroup and keep it going...we all knew the Cats would beat us lets be serious!!! |

Well, first of all, this speaks to what we were talking about before the game last night- if you can only spare 7 or 8 losses over 35 games, you've kind of f***ed yourself, because that's nearly impossible for the best team in the league, never mind this one. Second of all, as I said before, you can't HAVE TO score 4 and 5 goals every night, because sooner or later a good goaltender is going to stop that from happening.
And....of course, yet again, we had another example of "why this coach needs to go" last night- after that bonehead move 47 made, half a minute into the game, he should have watched at least the rest of the period from the bench. It's time to stop pretending he's our best defenseman, because he's not, and coddling players who are sh*t for brains is not helping the cause here. When they win, they do so in spite of this coach. I just hope someone figures that out sooner rather than later.
To put it another way- Florida is fast up front, like we are. What you do for the first few minutes out of the gate against a team like that is sit back and weather the storm- one forechecker, clog up the neutral zone, etc. If you try to skate with a team like that, only bad things can happen. Sometimes, your defensemen have to play defense. |

first goal.. A-mac.. first shift. Between that and the Non HD.. I turned it off.. when I heard they had a shortie I knew that 1 of 2 things happened. Amack failed to keep it at the point and it was a breakaway/odd man rush OR he took a dumb shot into a guys shin which caused a break away/odd man rush. it is beyond absurd at this point. |

as pointed out before 1 loss after a nice winning streak isnt the end of the world, its thursdays game thatll be the real test. do they come out hungry or flat? cant afford 2+ game losing streaks |

I was on islander mania last night during the game...and theres actually guys who sit there and defend amac. I dont understand it. Like i was literally arguing with the guy.
then we started arguing about his trade value...and i said the guy is worth nothing more than a 4th rounder...maybe a 3rd if we threw in a 5th or a 6th. He then proceeded to tell me that i need to change my "sig" when he gets traded for a 2nd rounder because im going to feel very stupid. meanwhile right when the isles got the PP... he said "you all watch, AMAC is going to score on the PP." Sure enough Amac sucked it up and pretty much scored for the other team for making his 19th boneheaded play of the game. I told him to change his "sig" to that statement. |

It seems that whenever a goal is scored against us now, it's almost instinct to search for where on the ice 47 was....typically it's the easiest way to figure out where the breakdown occured. |

Personally I think the Isles world is opening it's eye's to Amac's multiple shortcomings. It's funny, when I was on the yahoo messageboards a couple of years ago I used to say that Amac really regressed after his first year and I wasn't impressed. Of course everyone chalked it up to "sofphmore jinx". I came here and the majority of folks were defending him saying he's just being overused. Now it's pretty much indisputable that the guy simply sucks. You can almost see the same with Bailey. While the guy has some physical ability, he does very little to help this team.
As for Amac, I don't care if he plays 27 minutes. Even if he only were playing 5 minutes, that would be 5 minutes of DANGEROUS hockey for this team. The guy is flat out terrible. If you suck, you suck. Amack Sucks..suck suck suckidy suck suck! I HATE YOU AMAC!

There was someone here that defended Boyes. There are people that think Elvis is still alive. There are people that believe aliens walk among us. There are even a few people that think Cappy is a good coach. |
