There was someone here that defended Boyes. There are people that think Elvis is still alive. There are people that believe aliens walk among us. There are even a few people that think Cappy is a good coach.

Is there seriously a possibility that AMAC can fetch a 2nd rounder for us? I was shocked when I heard a few people said that. I say no higher than a 4th. I understand his cap hit is pretty much nothing, but other than that...am i missing something?? I just dont see how on earth someone would pay that much for this guy. Amac is just not a good hockey player. Its as simple as that...

Personally I think the Isles world is opening it's eye's to Amac's multiple shortcomings. It's funny, when I was on the yahoo messageboards a couple of years ago I used to say that Amac really regressed after his first year and I wasn't impressed. Of course everyone chalked it up to "sofphmore jinx". I came here and the majority of folks were defending him saying he's just being overused. Now it's pretty much indisputable that the guy simply sucks. You can almost see the same with Bailey. While the guy has some physical ability, he does very little to help this team.

As for Amac, I don't care if he plays 27 minutes. Even if he only were playing 5 minutes, that would be 5 minutes of DANGEROUS hockey for this team. The guy is flat out terrible. If you suck, you suck. Amack Sucks..suck suck suckidy suck suck! I HATE YOU AMAC!

My classic 'Die Bruno Die" chant has been replaced..
DIE AMAC DIE!!!!!!

I was on islander mania last night during the game...and theres actually guys who sit there and defend amac. I dont understand it. Like i was literally arguing with the guy.

then we started arguing about his trade value...and i said the guy is worth nothing more than a 4th rounder...maybe a 3rd if we threw in a 5th or a 6th. He then proceeded to tell me that i need to change my "sig" when he gets traded for a 2nd rounder because im going to feel very stupid. meanwhile right when the isles got the PP... he said "you all watch, AMAC is going to score on the PP." Sure enough Amac sucked it up and pretty much scored for the other team for making his 19th boneheaded play of the game. I told him to change his "sig" to that statement.

If I could get a second round draft choice for Andrew MacDonald, I'd have already packed him in one of those flat rate Priority Mail crates and sent him off to wherever that might be.....but I'd bet Poulin and Nabokov would beat me to the Post Office....

You know, I'm not really sure. There are multiple answers here:
Question: Is Amac worth a 2nd rounder?
Answer: Hell to the 'No' he isn't. The guy stinks.

Question: Why wouldn't other teams see things the same as we do?
Answer: Quite frankly, they don't watch him as often as we do. Word of mouth gets out that the guy is making peanuts while playing 27 minutes a night and qbing the power play and some GM's suddenly assume he's a commodity. If they have scouts watch 5 of his games and 3 of them aren't terrible, he's suddenly a cheap useful addition in there eyes.

So ultimately it comes down to two different things. Is Amac the player worth a 2nd rounder? (no) and Is a dman who fills the roles Amac plays worth a 2nd rounder? (yes)
Personally, I wouldn't expect more than a third, but you never know how much these teams have really seen of him as opposed to 'hearing' the roles and price...

i believe he can bring back at least a 2nd honestly simply bc of the bidding war, hes a defenseman-you have to pay a premium for them-, hes cheap and the lack of scouts watching him every single shift of every game....the return will not be because of merit

not saying anything that everyone doesnt know but AMAC was horrendous although truth be told if any dman is going to be bad im happy its him, i just hope garth recognizes whats going on and unloads him before the league catches on...

as pointed out before 1 loss after a nice winning streak isnt the end of the world, its thursdays game thatll be the real test. do they come out hungry or flat? cant afford 2+ game losing streaks

If Snow doesnt realize how horrid a Mac is after two seasons of horrid play it'd just add even more fuel to the fire that we need a new GM. The guy is terrible, if the obvious needs to be pointed out continuously what does that say about Snow? Between Capuano, head scratching moves and non moves we dont need any more fuel really.

If you're taking it literally...yeah....am I actually truly wishing death on the guy? no. Sorta like folks wishing injury on him last night. I don't think anyone REALLY wants to see the guy hurt...am I really having to explain this?

He's a guy who, two years from now, given de Haan, Reinhart, Pulock, Mayfield, Pedan, Donovan, Hickey, and a couple of the other kids I can't remember off the top of my head....wouldn't MAKE this team, never mind being our number one defenseman. Our defense is where our offense was in 2009, at this point. He's basically Andy Hilbert....

Excerpts from an article in The Fourth Period about Vanek and free agency...

Initial speculation had Vanek eyeing the possibility of signing with the Minnesota Wild in the off-season, as his wife is from the area and that's where they spend most of their summers.

However, sources close to the athlete have told TFP that Vanek has enjoyed his time on Long Island, thus far, and likes playing alongside star center John Tavares.

I would prefer.. "Trade A mac" chant rather than "die Amack die" .. maybe that's just me.

how about this... Rangers hate MDZ... We hate A-mac.. both could use a fresh start. Swap em.

sorry to burst the bubble but this isnt news...living in one of the nicer areas of the country (especially compared to buffalo) and playing with a top 5 player in the NHL are 2 things we knew vanek would enjoy before he put on an islanders jersey....

the "however" would be a lot more exciting if it was something along the lines of "however, sources close to the athlete have told TFP that vanek is pleasantly surprised with the direction the team is headed and is strongly considering the possibility of signing with the islanders"

How about “Sit AMac, but break it to him gently because we don’t want to hurt his self esteem. We are all special in some way. Even though he is not the best defenseman he has other redeeming qualities!”
