I think it doesn't matter if they are young. Larrson would be in his 3rdish season and Gelinas has struggled a little lately, but has been good overall and Merrill has been solid for the most part. I would go with that defense, they have to play sometime, instead of saving them for whatever to occur. I think if they are giving the chance to play they would be fine, regardless if they are young or not, that's why they pay the coaching staff, to help them adjust their game and grow.

well Urbom isn't good so no reason to have him in the lineup.

Being a veteran doesn't matter at all. If you aren't as good as somebody younger "experience" doesn't count for anything.

+/- has probably between a .6 and a .7 correlation relating to a person's ability to get the puck out of their own zone. As they play more games, you can usually take the past two or three years the person's played hockey and get a significant score.

Your forgetting that Zubrus-Zajac-Jagr always play the best line on a team, wheres Briere doesn't so he probably could score more than Zubrus and Zajac. These were the players that were just on the PP:

Zid, Merrill, Gelinas, Clowe, Henrique, Ryder, Jagr, Zajac, and Zubrus.

As you said Zubrus is barely on it because Pete puts Bernier on their sometimes, so when Elias and Brunner come back their would be no room for him on the PP unless Zajac is at the point and that it completely stupid to put him there, even then there still wouldn't be room unless someone is not on it out of Zajac, Jagr, Clowe, Elias, Henrique, Brunner, and Ryder.

Games over now. Look at the PP time again. Bernier with 2:33. Zajac with 3:55 to lead the team. At this point I take Briere over Bernier on the PP happily & frankly considering Zajac can't score to save his life I take Briere on the PP over him as well.

As Phil Espisito likes to preach you can't score if you can't hit the net. Zajac zero shots on net tonight. 7 goals & 21 points in 46 games. Great hockey player but hasn't been a point producer for years. most over paid 3rd line C in the NHL.

On a positive note we won & really that's all that matters. i just don't like the way were winning. Gelinas just barely 8 mins of ice time. What a waste.
