I don't think Bolland's going anywhere unless we give up more than Toronto did. Both he and Ott will take significant assets to acquire, and are going to be making $2.5M+ as your 4th line center if we resign them. I'm not so sure Dallas will be selling, so Fiddler may not be available. And I doubt the Rangers will be willing to trade to the Flyers unless it's some stupid overpayment.
Hall's not a top 4C in the league. He's a competent place holder who has a limited skill set and can give you adequate minutes. - jmatchett383
If Carolina fades I would look to pick up Malhotra, he won't cost much and he's an upgrade over Hall. |

Maybe it's an in-joke from when JVR was here. |

I thought Mez would play with Grossmann and then Gus would go back to partnering Schenn.
I can only imagine how many penalties Ott would get called for as a Flyer. Giving away draft picks to rent a 4th line center is a bad idea for a team that it well away from being a contender like the Flyers. Those guys and their $3 million cap hits won't have a place here next season. - Feanor
I just threw those names out there as guys that might be available come trade deadline. There's other guys that would be an upgrade over Hall as well...Goc, Stajan, D Moore, Malholtra, Halpern, etc etc. I didn't mean to start a debate on the players I named. You guys were missing my whole point. I think 4th line center is a huge hole on the team and if the Flyers upgraded with anybody similar to the guys I named, they'd be a much more complete team. You say that it's not worth giving up stuff to get a guy like that to rent for the rest of the season because "they're not a contender"? Wow dude, if the Flyers make the playoffs (and they will), then it would totally be worth it to have a rental 4th line center until Laughton steps into that role. You're acting like they'd have to give up a first round pick or a roster player to get somebody like that and that's really far off. Any 4th line center that's a pending UFA at seasons end, could be had for a mid round pick or a prospect, (that isn't one of the top in their system). To say it's not worth it to go get a rental 4th line center is ridiculous. Why wouldn't you wanna improve the team for this year's run? The price wouldn't be high at all. |

Impossible. Once they aren't employed by the Flyers, they will be working at a car wash. |

It would be nice to have a player who can take some of the defensive burden off couturier. Maybe give him a few more offensive zone draws

Paul Gaustad cost Nashville a 1st round pick in 2012. He was a pending UFA that year. After Kubina I'm wary of trading picks for rentals, and this team is farther away than the 11-12 Flyers were from contending.
Not sure why you're so convinced the Flyers make the playoffs. It's looking like a 50/50 proposition right now. |

was listening to local sports radio this morning
sharks are playing the caps tonight
apparently the caps let an 8 year old kid that loves hockey, the caps, and holtby practice with the team and the kid even picked a fight with holtby and holtby got punched and went down for the kid |

Gaustad was also young and having a career season that year. He was considered as more than a 4th line checker rental player back then. Wait, was he a rental at all actually? Didn't they give him a multi year deal? He still plays there right? Lol terrible example bro. The guys I listed are actually 4th line center, gap filling rentals. Not young players enjoying career seasons. Not comparable at all. |

I think it means JVR only scores by picking up the garbage goals,
i.e. he's like a pigeon |
