Almost as good as them being good enough to go all the way this year.

Haha, I kid, I kid.

P.S. Did we all just see Grossmann pinch and save Streit's ass on the blueline when he fumbled the puck?

Ha! I can take a joke -- that's a good one, too.

(But they are, with a few tweaks!)

No. Grossmann has never done anything well. Get with the program.

Yeah, that's worrisome -- you don't want that to come back and bite you in the arse

According to JJ the Sabres have FIVE COUNT EM FIVE regulation wins this season.

That is abysmal.

He's had a rough stretch. I don't think you want to make too much out of a bad stretch. He's been steady for most of his Flyers career.
- PhillySportsGuy

The problem with Grossmann is at his best he's a 2nd pair shutdown guy with basically no offense in his game whatsoever; at his worst, he's a total liability in all 3 zones.

He's really a microcosm of the Flyers whole D corps. On a top team, Grossmann, Schenn and Streit are 3rd pair guys and Mez and Gus are 6/7 guys (Gill would be waived). Timonen, who has clearly lost a step is a 2nd pair guy at best and Coburn can either anchor a 2nd pair or be ths #2 guy on a top pair.

The forwards, powerplay and goaltending when at their best can make up for some of the D's deficiencies, but this group is simply not mobile or talented enough to take this team past the 1st round of the playoffs.

With the lack of D that will be available in free agency coupled with the fact tgat the Flyers top D prospects are 3 or 4 years away from making an impact you can almost guarantee that a couple of the Flyers young forwards and/or picks and prospects are going to be moved for a dman or 2. Count on it.

I don't remember Grossmann ever going through this bad of a stretch with the Flyers. He's been consistent. He's rarely at his worst.

I know. I feel like Couturier and Read will become a bigger threat at some point.

Yup.

He was the definition of a set it and forget it guy.

Hopefully he rounds back into form. I'm sure he will
