Don't worry guys .. Sabres usually fall asleep in the 2nd and lose the game there.

For a guy with such slow speed and lack of puck skill, he's got to be a whole lot smarter than he has played this season.
- Jsaquella

I get the sour taste.

Wont lie, hard for me to get on the guy. He is probably a 3rd pairing or #4 d-man on most of the better teams in the league.

He is forced into a role he isn't meant to be in on this squad, and playing with Streit doesn't help any either. I like Grossmann, pure heart, and get him into the reduced role he is meant to play and he is fine. Blame Holmgren for not doing any better.

This team had better get their collective arses in gear. That was embarrassing.

Doesn't matter what role he's in, he needs to stay within his ability. I don't want VandeVelde or Rinaldo trying to stickhandle through 4 defenders and I don't want Grossmann making dumb, rookie mistakes.

This team is either playing real well or real poorly. There is no middle ground. It's difficult to get a reading on a team that wins 5 in a row then loses 5 in a row.

That period played out like a turd slowly rolling down a hill on a hot, humid day.

In times like this, when the emotion is low...

Is where guys like Downie, Rosehill, Jean Claude Van Damme and Hall need to step up to boost the energy.

Amp up the physical game and get under the skin. Play to your strengths.

he passed up an easy poke to keep the puck inside their blueline earlier in the same shift, you might be slowly turning me to the darkside

He's had a rough few games. It just sucks that they can't reduce his minutes a bit. It's not like I trust Schenn, Streit or Mez more defensively.

Again, it's amazing: Mark Streit had nothing to do with Grossmann giving up that 2 on 1, and yet there he is, again!

not a fan of Rinaldo's play this year, but without him and Downie in the lineup they're skating like it's a preseason game. Zero emotion or intensity.

With how many minutes he plays, on average, I have no issue with him taking chances. You need to do so in this league to win. He will be exposed, because he is not good enough to play such heavy minutes.

Ideally he doesn't have to do this, but again, our saviour in management hasn't helped the cause very much, and has forced him into this role.

I'll stand by my idea that Grossmann is a solid d-man. When you overplay guys like that, you get burned.

They gave up several good scoring chances to the worst offensive team by a lot.

I'd like to get McGinn, Cousins and Akeson some playing time.

LeCavalier at this stage is basically an anchor, I doubt he is fully recovered. Would love to see some youthful enthusiasm on the team from those AHL Kids.

We have 1 goal. The Second period is were the Sabres will either lose it or carry the lead till the third. We can never tell what will happen.

Thankfully its one period, and Mason looks to be fairly sharp, even if that post saved his ass.

Lots of time to get back in and win.
