Why don't you do a little re-search on that little $20 million thing and get back to us

Googles first response.
So essentially... they are losing a bunch of money on operating the team.

And yet the kitty cats beat your team's azz 2 out of 3 times and pretty easily too.

This has nothing to do with the owner, though. This was a deal made by SSE, who owns the arena. Viola owns the team. The arena lease was made through the county and that is what is being changed. The REASON the team is losing the $20 million is because the deal is very old and things in the economy here in America have changed in the last 15 years.

Weaver blows. Gilbert is our best damn. Thomas is old. Give Callahan and Stasney both 6 yr contracts @ 6mil per. Sign Ryan Miller too. By out Jovo. Trade Kulikov.Done
- harveykline

Can't buy Jovo out, his contract is a 35+. But I lol'd hard at the Weaver comment. I on't agree or disagree, it was just hilarious.

Dylan Olson is not going to become.a key player or anything close.to a core.player. he may stick as a third pair dman. If he would.play a consistent physical game, then he would endear himself.to a permanent roster spot -,assuming he improves in some.other areas as well. Right now he does not deserve more than 15,- 20 TOI per game. He is an affordable contract and conceivably a.fit if Gallon signs some.free agents next year. While.he had progressed in CHG system, he is at the point where he needs to take that next step. Hope he does, but I do not expect much more from him until maybe a few years playing in the NHL.

With what they have been able to do in the past with developing young talent... what makes you think anything will change going forward.

And yet... there they are... second last...
(Also... I would hardly call 2-1 and 4-1 wins "handily" especially considering the losses were on the second night of back to back games with Budaj in net for both... but don't let facts get in the way of your story)

How does that change the fact they are losing money. So a bad economy is to blame? All I said is that they are losing money and they feel they can spend to the cap... probably because they can count on getting a revenue sharing cheque from the better performing teams!
How have you disproved this to me?

yup... and my point was more toward the comment about how "handily" they beat the Habs...

I don't really understand how Montreal got so many wins this year but that team doesn't scare me. You guys can't score, your defense is overrated. Montreal would be the easiest team to face in the playoffs. Panthers future is brighter, when this team is clicking not many could beat us. Can't say that for Montreal. Here's to another 1st round exit for the habs. I look forward to it

Watch the games. Weaver doesn't blow, Miller is getting old too. I'd rather have Thomas at least has won a cup and stands on his head every game for us. Buying out Jovo will never happen. It would have happened already if that was the case. So it's not done kid. A lot of things need to happen this offseason. Giving some of our kids new NHL contracts would be first once their NCAA and minor league seasons end.

I have to agree, weaver does blow. He gets bullied around on the boards, can be sloppy with the puck at times and doesn't have an ounce of offensive ability in his body... and if that guy falls on the ground one more time I will go ape poop!! The only decent thing I can say about him is that he is a good penalty killer.

is huberdeau still untouchable or would you guys consider moving him with how barkov and bjugstad have looked or is bjugstad still the first one to go?
BTW i know he is going to cost a lot no matter what.

Huberdeau is going through a typical Sophomore slump. It doesn't help that he's playing with Kopecky and Goc.

He isn't going anywhere. Barkov and Bjugstad are centers, he is a winger. He needs to be playing with Bjugstad and Fleischman right now IMO.. but he is just struggling.

See my post below.. he's struggling right now. That's all. Sophomore slump. Teams had an entire off season to watch him on tape and they got used to him. Put him with someone like Bjugstad to cause some separation and you'll see a big change. He's useless with Kopecky and Goc.
