I think acquiring blake wheeler would be a mistake. His back checking defensive skills is weak, doesnt use his size much, not really a tough guy and has a long contract till what 32? If we had to target someone on the jets id go for either ladd or kane but kane will cost you more

To be fair, Gagner has 2 more years of development on Kadri, who was relegated to 3rd/4th line duty whenever he got to play under Wilson.

Yeah i didnt understand why the leafs didnt try and get wheeler to begin with it didnt really cost the jets much and was another american that could of been paired with kessel

6th rounder is a long shot. Kids clearly got skill and smarts/vision ect.... Knock is his skating. Lets see if how he does at the next level. Even if he's a good AHL'er that's pretty good for 6th round.
