My bad, surely you can see how i could have made such an outrageous claim though...

Kunitz played a role as a penalty killer earlier this season when the pens had a ton of injuries. In addition in previous seasons he s played a much bigger role (especially on the ducks). If I had the desire to read through every post you have put up I'm quite sure I could find one or two, point out that it's wrong or an exaggeration. Once again this falls under the context of ad hominem, which I have no intention of engaging in. But please continue I ve not been this amused for a long time.
And who says I'm not a valley girl??? What does that have to do with me pointing out that your wrong about some of the specific arguements your making?

I can't believe you missed Pavelski.

That's true, and currently his help at wing has not been very good either, with the injuries they have sustained. Yet he still can produce.

Not many of those guys were available to us when we were trading Staal. Also Pavelski makes $4 MIL. We aren't designed to pay that type of money to our 3rd line center anymore.

Until they sign Sutter for that and I have egg on my face. If I were the Pens I'd use it as an example. You're not this good you can't get that money.

To be fair he gets most of his points on the PP though. He's on the #1 with all the usual suspects. He is a great 2 way player though.

In a heart beat. Get Perron used to playing the right side with Crosby.

I liked Perron in St. Louis, but watching him with Edmonton I have realized that he is a Richard. He goes to the net and nudges the goalie every chance he gets, he never shuts up, and has a excellent wrist shot.

I know the Penguins are in a hard position with all of the injuries currently, but I would like to see them make their move before the deadline this year even before the Olympic break.

Mostly because this year we are not going to need a top 6 guy(we actually didn't need one last year), we need depth and bottom 6 talent. I feel like its more important for bottom 6 guys to develop chemistry with one another than it is for top 6 guys that can just depend on their talent.

Duper's injury also makes me hope that we make our mover sooner rather than later as well, because Dupers through the line up versatility has left holes in 2 if not 3 of our lines.

The only guy I can say right now (besides Cooke) is Steve Ott, his price is only going to go up. Now is the time to get him.

His extension kicks in next year, he goes up to 6 per. Worth every penny.

I highly doubt you see any major movement prior to the Olympics. If someone was to get hurt over there it could dramtically alter a teams needs moving forward seeing as how all the best players are going.

Beau Bennet's injury status and the timing of his comeback all point to a post Olympic trade.

Anyone have an opinion on Alex Chiasson? Keep hearing his name mentioned and I don't recall ever seeing him play. Good size it looks like but he's a -15 on the season.

He's good and young and probably not going anywhere. He plays on a line with Cole and Whitney I believe.

edit: and a -15 on Dallas should be taken with a grain of salt.

That does make sense, I hear he is about 4 weeks away.

I just hope he can be less fragile(must be Italian), down the road.

Sounds like a player we would covet? I'm sure Dallas is done dealing young wingers to us.

I just cannot wait to watch as they raise the beautiful Maple Leaf above not only the tear streaked Yankee faces, but above the Pinko Commie bastards hosting the tournament too.

Personally I think we'd be better off with a Garbutt or Rousell if we're looking at Dallas. Chaisson is more of a Bennett type. We need bangers.

He's got a knack for scoring---at least based on how frequently he was scoring on a per shot basis. I've heard good things. However, I doubt Dallas deals with us now that they have new management.

I totally agree, CPF. I like Sutter but that'd be a tough guy to turn away at that kind of price. Plus, you could use him higher on the totem pole if necessary.

Yea he'd be quite the weapon, but as this team is constructed we can't afford a 6 mill 3rd line center and we shouldn't need one.

Yeah, even with the cap going up that's tough. It'd be more tempting with a guy like Pavelski I think. Maybe more so than Staal. Shero was willing to offer that to him too. But, it looks like Sutter will be around $3-3.5 probably. He does enough. Just need to put decent guys around him.

Are they willing to move any of them? I don't follow Dallas to closely. I see them twice a year

The more I look at the Penguins roster & the holes in it, the less and less I want Shero to make trade that gives up any sort of real asset for a rental player.

The 3rd and 4th lines just aren't good enough. Next year I'd love for the Penguins to be able to re-sign Sutter, Megna, & Vitale, but even if they do the Pens still need to add two above average 3rd-liners. Giving up Despres (or a similar asset) or a 1st for 3rd-line rental players just doesn't make any sense given that the pending Cap increase will allow the Pens to be more active in targeting 3rd-line UFA's this offseason. I'd rather Shero moved forward with what the Penguins have or make a lateral move (ie, Engelland for a comparable 4th liner) than to give up any sort of tangible asset.
