I sort of expected Moulson and Cammaleri since they've been mentioned a lot. I'm positive I mentioned Cammaleri first on here.

Hemsky though? I mean he's not awful but I really don't care much for the guy from a physical standpoint. Talk about soft...Bartley would have a field day.

I guess if we're just talking about some offense then he's okay...

You're missing the point. It's not that Despres is bad. He's not. The point is that he isn't knocking Orpik out of the Top 4 easily. Orpik wil be given a longer leash because he's a solid veteran and he's great with Martin who is almost back. I agree that Despres needs to play. Where isn't important. Just get him on the ice.
- HopintheCordoba

Agreed ... They need to and should be able to find him ice time ... I also agree he ll be moved ... I understand that Lovejoy is not an Allstar ...but he s moved on to be a solid contributer for the ducks... when he has here he was repeatedly banished to the press box for little or no reason in favor of guys like engo... It seems like the same pattern with despres ... I understand there is something the coaching staff might not like , or other guys are ahead of him ... That he s developing ... Bottomline is when he has played this season he s been very good ... Let's not forget he s been up and down for three seasons ... What more is he learning in the press box or in the ahl? Please shero insist on him playing or trade him ... The kid has legit top 4 potential and I don't know who else to point the finger at other then disco who has a track record with this type of thing

I think he's referring to the time he's spent over the past few months paired with Orpik...and a few others.

C'mon man...you know about the sarcasm font.

- HopintheCordoba

Engo is not totally awful, but yeah; him playing with Brooks instead of Despres was mind boggling to me.

Side note, I love the physical game Despres has, which was a surprise to me. His hip checking ability must have been taught to him by Scuds.

I hate it but its painfully obvious that Despres is not in the Penguins plans for the future.

Yeah, that's undeniable. I just mean I don't know that he can grow much more against that talent level. Playing against NHL guys different. I'm just worried that even though he will do well in WBS and get minutes, that he won't be getting the time to acclimate more against greater talents.

Bartley is right though. The way things are going he could be moved and I'd be upset but not shocked at all.

Sweet merciful crap.

And got embarrassed in the 3rd.

Also beat two teams that were absolutely filled with jobbers, and should have swept them both.

- nbartley9

Yes they lost to the Bruins because of an inferior 3rd line center. Had nothing to do with the fact they couldn't score to save their lives.

A good 3rd line changes the outcome of that series. The Stanley Cup shows what a dominant 3rd line could do to the Bruins, (Stalberg, Bickell and Shaw). If we had a 3rd and 4th line last year, that could give the stars a breath and some momentum we win that series.

No one is arguing the point that our 3rd/4th line needs help. The point that people are trying to make is that the lack of third/fourth line doesn't solely land on the shoulders of Sutter. Take your example, all three of those guys are good third line players. Give Sutter those type of winger and it would be a good third line.

You seem to think just because the third line sucks that everyone on the line must suck when in reality thats not the case.

Your boy, Matt Cooke was part of that third line that is apparently the reason the Penguins lost the series.

So using Bartlet logic, Cooke is the reason the Penguins lost against the Bruins.

Yes I'm the idiot that says depres has been one of our best 6 d men this year and deserves to play ... Never said he should play over Orpik only that Orpik has been terrible since his return !!! Is that not true???
2) we re getting zero offense out of our non existent 3rd line ... With guys like engo and pyatt ... Yes I think we need to make a sensible trade for a winger or two ASAP ... If we want to compete with the other top team s in the big spot! How is this wrong????
But what do I know ... Only an idiot could come to these blarringly obvious conclusions

- Brianandr1

Engo is a 4th line guy who has been doing it fairly well. Why the hell would you trade for a 4th line winger when we have plenty. Same for the 3rd line. Bennett, megna, and jokinen may see time on the 3rd line. Why make a trade when the team just needs to get healthy

No, it certainly needs to get better, and it needs to do so with players not currently on this roster. Sutter is fine, he needs better wingers.

What I am arguing is his staement that a better 3rd line changes that series. The team scored 2 (frank)ing goals in 4 games and went 0 for 15 on the PP. That's why they lost, and that's not on the 3rd line.

I am not looking at anyone else on that line, the Sutter point I am trying to make is that he does not fulfill the duties of a 3rd line center.

The things I look for in a checking line center, are puck possession, sustaining or generating momentum, and winning board battles; Sutter cant do any of those things. Even last year when he had Kennedy and the worlds greatest player he couldn't do those things.

Oh yeah I completely agree with you. I was just saying Sutter with better wingers would be good 3rd line. Sutter being a problem in that series is a joke.

Go back to work/sleep, chump.

On another note, apparently good possibility that Yeo gets canned at years end. Saying his lack of being able to change game plans on the fly is the main culprit. Sounds similar to his mentor according to some here.

I wonder how our Southern Penguin fans will feel if Bylsma wins a gold medal in a couple weeks.

I despise Babcock as a coach and hate listening to his smug attitude, but when he is coaching Canada he is the bee's knees.
