Consider the Drazenovic call up instead of Zolniercyk an attempt to get the 4th line to record a point. - Deadstar
I agree. Also he deserves a chance. I don't mind Engelland at forward but both appear better...and he's not needed on defense. |

Maybe it's me but I don't remember hearing all this complaining about Sutter during last season while he was skating with the greatest Penguin of all time...
For the record I love Sutter. He's not playing with much skill around. - HopintheCordoba
Cooke could make anyone look good, Sutter just brings nothing to the table. I have never seen such a physically weak hockey player. You don't win playoff series with a guy like Sutter. |

And got embarrassed in the 3rd.
Also beat two teams that were absolutely filled with jobbers, and should have swept them both. |

Am I in the minority when I think engo has played fairly well on the 4th line. At least he's busting his ass and forechecking and he's pretty strong on the puck. He's doing everything a 4th line guy is supposed to do |

Yes...but who would you expect to step up and provide the much needed offense in that series? I mean anyone would be good but I think the Top 6 is in debt there. |

Just the first 2 games, the other 2 Rask was a wall and the pens couldn't put the puck in the net to save their souls |

No, certainly not. He's been better than expected. I don't know what that says exactly though because I didn't expect much. I just like Z and Sill as a bit more valuable for PK, speed and faceoffs. Just different ability. Not saying Engelland has been bad. |

If the team isn't scoring and you blame sutter then you're obviously watching a different game |

When we went to the Cup finals and then won the Cup the next year we had the BEST 3rd line in hockey that is a proven formula to winning tough playoff series'. Right now and even with a healthy line up we have the softest and one of the 3 worst 3rd lines in the league. |

I think he has done fine for not know the position well. I would like to see more cycles around the opponents net. I wouldn't mind him getting a few more games on the wing. |

I agree, I'd like to see more of them too, but the little "engelland experiment" hasn't been a failure at all. |

I think we're all aware of that at this point. It's basically punchless. I don't attribute that to Sutter though. Who's he playing with? Basically nobody. No Jokinen. No more Cooke. No Bennett. No Megna yet. No Gibbons for awhile. You can see where I'm going with this right? |

Yes, the 3rd line is weak but you are looking at the wrong player when assessing this situation. Third line was good in the years you reference because we had three well rounded players playing there....right now we have 1 (sutter if you didn't know who I was referring to) player that is an actual 3rd line player. His linemates have been borderline 4th line/AHL'ers. |

I am not complaining about Sutter's offensive struggles, because in that department I think he has been ok.
My problem with him lies with possession, winning puck battles, and gaining momentum. He is horrible at possessing the puck, he almost never wins puck battles ( I actually think I do remember him winning one against Nathan Gerbe), and that line constantly sends momentum the other way. |

Even when Geno was out this year and they were putting Sutter on second line duties he was totally mismatched every time he stepped on the ice. |

No kidding. I personally think Megna and Gibbons with him would be adequate but we haven't seen much of that yet. They come to play. But if there's a spot that could use a bit more help it's that line. Hopefully we get a look at them together after they come back. Bennett to the top line too. |

He's actually gotten some decent shots off from time to time. He's a got a big howitzer of a shot. |

When Geno was out they first tried playing Sutter in Geno's spot when that was an absolute disgrace they put Neal with Sid and Kuni. |

Which part? He did play on the 2nd line for a bit. Some last year. Maybe a few shifts this year. They put Jokinen in there after.
