no panic...just an observation. Leblond is the definition of a waste of space. He adds no value--even less than Pyatt.
If they were playing the '75 Flyers, then Leblond would fit right in. Hopefully he's the one serving popcorn at 7:08 EST - akane13

When? 1998? Has he done anything good while a member of this team? I don't give a flying (frank) if he was half decent 5 years ago. He takes penalties and gets minuses now, that's the extent of his contribution. I would rather see you out there than him. - canadianpenfan

If I did I would probably ban myself so I didn't have to aggravate myself by commenting on Sutter playing on the first line... |

They're kind of out of options at this point. Not the ideal situation but the injuries are just too much right now. |

Bartley just so you know, you make my day with your hatred for Sutter , your posts are hilarious , I think I'm starting to hate him a little too now, but only a little. Keep posting I literally laugh out loud when I read your posts , for instance tying Crosbys skates together ... |

They do give us fits occasionally...even if that's mostly just in FLA. Enjoy the game. I'm headed up Friday but back Monday so I won't be able to attend. |

That could be the "fan from the stands gets to dress at forward for a game" prize night. Keep your ticket stub close and pay attention to the pre-game announcements Listen to hear if you seat/row/section is the winner.

@pgshelly: Letourneau-Leblond said he relishes idea of standing up for Crosby, Malkin and would like to deliver his first hit on Ovechkin. #Penguins

I'm sure I'll get a mouth full for saying this but were basically playing this game with 2 lines. 3 of the 6 on the bottom are not NHL players, one is a d man and 2 are forth liners. For me this creates extra ice time/ minutes for all our top players . Is it not a real concern that the wear and tear will affect us in the playoffs? Hence my urgency to make a deal sooner then later. I understand Bennett and megna will be back and that will help, but that may not be till mid february |

What wear and tear? Regardless of who's been playing in the bottom 6 they are getting regular shifts. |

I don't think there are many, if any, people on here who don't think our bottom 6 is a nightmare right now. I think we can all basically agree on that. I don't necessarily agree that making a trade soon is an urgent need. Looking at their game logs, it doesn't seem like Crosby or Malkin are seeing any extended minutes during the last month or two, when the injuries have really piled up. Malkin should actually be somewhat fresh considering he missed so much time with injury. I do think that maybe the extra mental pressure of knowing that if they don't put up points they probably aren't coming could get to them and lead to a scoring drought, but we have such a large cushion it shouldn't be a major concern. I am under the impression Megna isn't far off. That will be a boost, and hopefully once one comes back it will be a steady stream of guys coming back one after another. |

Perhaps urgency is not the right word. I'm not sure we re good enough to beat the st. Louis', Boston's and chicago's of the world when it counts. (Even when fully healthy) so whether it's sooner or later I think we need to upgrade at the wing. If forbid one of our top guys goes down in the playoffs we could be relying on three rookies to produce in the top nine. Won't speculate as to who we should get, top 6, bottom 6 , but I think we need to upgrade their if we hope to win the cup |

Crosby's average ice time per month:
October - 22:52
November - 21:59
December - 21:43
January - 21:33
So it has actually gone down every month so far.
Malkin's average ice time per month:
October - 20:15
November - 19:28
December - 18:44
January - 20:15
December is slightly skewed since he only played 4 games and the last one only 12 minutes because of his injury. |

Well the Pyatt line has been on the ice for the tying goal against in 2 of the last 3 with under 7 minutes to play so it sure seems that way.
He played 14 minutes last game, that's alot of ice time for a 4th line. One thing Bylsma is definitely doing is not overextending the top players. Which is why we notice how bad the bottom 6 is every game. |

Yeah, I agree we need to bring in someone, whether it is top 6 and pushes someone to the 3rd line, thus improving it, or we just go get a guy or two for the 3rd line itself. I just think Shero can wait and see how the trade market starts to play out instead of rushing and doing something now. |

There is no one who moves down to the bottom 6 at this point. |
