To be honest, after 15 years of failure.... If I spent 180 million dollars and invested years and years and years of time into buying that team, I would wanna hire my own people too.

The management team and coaching staff that were in place were not responsible for the failure of the team / And the administration that was brought in was AHL staff. Those points are not disputable. Dudley was a fine GM and Ramsey a very good coach.

The sharks think Winnipeg is going to have a fire sale for some reason. Winnipeg has a lot of good young assets and would be silly to do so.

I don't know about that one. Perhaps Gunnarsson and Kadri would be more realistic. Edler would be a good fit for the Leafs though.

Well they'd only do it if they felt Reimer was a true upper echelon goalie. Just because I don't feel that way doesn't mean that Winnipeg does. Furthermore Reimer is from just outside of Winnipeg which may make him even more appealing to management.

why would the jets have any interest in gardiner? byfuglien, bogosian, trouba, enstrom etc...yea they really need gardiner.

I don't understand why the Jets didn't go full on rebuild when they moved from Atlanta.

The fans were starved for hockey and would have settled for a rebuild.

Instead they went with the same roster, and the same underachievers.

They brought in a crappy GM and a rookie coach.

Now, it looks like the Jets are going to have to go full on rebuild, starting from the top.

So dumb.

I think it was smart of them not to do any drastic changes when they first showed up, it was such a bad experience down in Atlanta, they need a proper evaluation of their players to see what they really have, I think even after last season they showed have known who to keep and who to ship out.

The dumb part was locking up all those pieces to contracts, in some cases decreased their trade value bc they are over paid. Now they have the task of tearing down a roster that just last summer was being touted as the long term core of the franchise.

I understand Chevy trying for a playoff spot in the East, the chance was there in a really bad division.

But the minute you moved over to the West, Chevy made a crucial error by thinking that same team would improve. They picked up a couple of free agents...so are you in 'win now' mode? That was never going to happen.

I disagree. They need character. Outside Ladd, None of the guys that came over from Atlanta are guys you want to build your team around.

Big Buff and Evander Kane play when they feel like it. Outside those two, there are no 'stars' on the team.

Moving to a place like Winnipeg was the perfect excuse to trade away these guys for prospects/picks.

Fans in Winnipeg would have waited 5-6 years for a playoff team. Now it looks like it will be another 5-6 years, from today, until they will be a playoff team, let alone a contender.

Winnipeg is not a city that is going to attract top free agents. They need to build the team through the draft. Picking 5-14 is not going to build you a great team. They need early round picks.

LOL. Bogo wouldnt get you Cooter alone. I think it would be hard for Philly to move B.Schenn and or Cooter. Based on theyre games turning around this year after that terrible start. I think Philly would part with a guy like Laughten whos high on alot of teams list. Bogo isnt anything special outside of all the hype of a man child during the Prospects work outs and breaking the bike off the ground.

I'm honestly discussing the merits of the players in the deal. It isn't inconceivable that a team feels Reimer is a legit top tier #1, he'd been pretty good the last couple seasons.
