How long before its announced that Downie is still suffering from his concussion.
He is a shell of his former self.

- Hatchet

Downie has not had an effective game since coming back. It is certainly possible that he's still suffering from the effects and just isn't saying a word.

He should speak up. It's his own health and career he's putting at risk.

I wonder why McGinn gets such a short leash in regards to just getting into the lineup, & Rinaldo gets more and more rope?
- puckhead17

It partially comes down to their respective skating ability, IMO. Not saying I necessarily agree.

I don't know that's what is actually going on. Just saying it's possible. I certainly agree that, if it is the case, he should speak up. But when you have an injury history like his, recent concussions and impending UFA status, I do think there is sometimes a tendency to be stoic about it and try to tough it out (which never works).

Heeter is having a tremendous season. Too bad.
- bmeltzer

How much of it is due to Murray's style?

Also if they resign Mason for next year do they let go of Ray and move up Heeter as the backup and give the starting job to Stolarz in the AHL or do they sign a vet to backup Mason and have Heeter and Stolarz split stars with the Phantoms?

Any of the goals Stolarz fault? His numbers keep going up, the team's defense hasn't look nearly as good this year, even with Zadarov back.

No sloppy play, with bad penalties. Stolarz played pretty well.

if stolly is ready for the AHL next year let ray walk move heeter up to nhl and see what he can do and see what stolly can do in the AHL

Few quick thoughts:

-I agree with Downie getting benched. I have heard the he's not 100% talk and it's certainly possible, he's been struggling for awhile now.

-I'd sit Grossmann, as well. I think he was the Flyers worst skater yesterday, and in terms of possession he's the Flyers worst defenseman by far. The hitting and shot blocks are great, but that's almost literally all he can do. As Ted Lindsay says, if you control the puck, you control the game.

-Still would have started Mason, but Emery played well in his last start.

anyone know our record vs the Rangers over the last couple of years? I'm too lazy to look it up. lol

seriously, though ... sure would be nice to start turning things around vs teams the Flyers struggled against under Lavy. Hopefully tonight's game isn't more of the same, like yesterday's was.

10-13 over the past four years vs the Rangers. They were 0-6 in the 2011-12 season

10 - 13 isn't as bad as I thought it was. I guess that 0 - 6 season kind of skewed the perception. Seems so much worse in my memory.

Another thing the Flyers should be looking for is a 4th line center. There's some nice names that might be available at the trade deadline. Bolland, Stajan, Moore, Ott, Fiddler, Goc, Malholtra, etc etc. I'm not a big fan of Hall or Vandlevele. Any of those guys listed would be a huge upgrade. Hopefully they can rent one for the rest of the year and until Laughton gets that spot next year.
- TonyBazz

Much rather have Hall at 600K than Bolland or Ott.

Ott is also a total piece of poop.

Perhaps the trade hasn't worked out as the Flyers had hoped for now, but there is a lot of games left to be played. Before he went down with the concussion, he was playing fairly well. Since then, not so well. Coincidence?
- 77rams

Which concussion?

As far as I know his only confirmed concussion this year happened against Washington, and he came back after that and played great.

Sabres over Caps in the breakaway competition. Oh well, 1 point is better than 2, I guess.
