Guys, don't worry, nobody on the rangers fights. We don't have orr rupp prust or bickel. Those types of guys are gone. I can't remember the last time this team had a fight.

Anyone have the number of games Talbot has been a healthy scratch in Colorado?

Also, since the trade how many more goals does Downie have than Talbot.

Thanks in advance.

Talbot has 4 goals , 7 assists , 11 points, +/- 0 in 34 games.
Downie has 2 goal , 10 assists, 12 points, +/- 0 in 28 games.

Trade has been even in my eyes. I don't believe the Flyers have a significantly improved record has anything to do with the trade as much as it did the coaching change and all other players stopped having a cold streak at once.

Interesting. I thought the idea of the trade was more offense. That isn't the case at all. We know Talbot is superior defensively, and does yeomans work on the PK, not to mention his leadership in the room.

This trade has been far from a slam dunk from the Flyers perspective.

Agreed. I think the Flyers improved play has zero to do with Downie.

I agree ... although I also think the Flyers did get the better player.

Downie's concussion and/or other injuries have made an otherwise good trade for the Flyers much more even.

Personally I would rather have Downie over Talbot.

Talbot's best season was with us in 2011-2012 where he had
19 goals , 15 assists , 34 points, +5 , 59 pims in 81 games.

Downie's best season was with the Bolts in 2009-2010 where he had
22 goals, 24 assists, 46 points , +14, 208 pims in 79 games.

I am not 100% sure Downie is over the concussion right now based on his play alone since none of us know anything other than what we see on the ice.

Take in account that Talbot is under contract the next two years at a very cap friendly number. while Downie is a UFA after this season. Given his current level a play, I would want nothing to do with giving Downie a contract.

So essentially this trade is 3/4 of a season of Downie for 2.75 seasons of Talbot.

Guys, this guy is never negative about any player. We should listen to him...he might be on to something here.

If Downie's concussion is still lingering, then we can't really made an informed decision about his ability to help this team beyond this year. At some point he'll need to be completely symptom free so that can be determined.

If the injury is not affecting his play, then to date he doesn't seem like a good fit.

Some info about a possible arm injury in there.
Downie also gives them freedom money wise this off season .

Not willing to judge a trade on 35 games.

I was thinking the same thing. That would be a great fight to see. Who wins it? You know Carcillo comes out fired up tonight. So who does me fight?

Fair points. I don't disagree. If a trade is made and one guy stays healthy, and the other doesn't, guess what, that means the trade didn't work.
