its telling how bad our defense has been when teams like the Rangers and devils have one guy with over 30 points is ahead of us in the standings. Our division is flat out terrible. I still believe we will finish higher in the standings, (But miss the playoffs) - mighty13duck
Defense has been much better.. Perfect?? No but good enough to win games |

I agree. I was referring to how bad they were which dug us into this hole |

This is an 82 game season.....not a 40 something game season. You'll still finish last in the worst division in the nhl - Blueshirts16

As for Poulin...and thanks for the responses yesterday.....my one problem with him is that he always seems to end up sitting on his a$$ on the ice, which makes it impossible for him to get up, or move laterally, which is why I was thinking that if he stood up more, he'd be better off. I think my concern with him really is the same one I used to have with his GM, and still have with guys like M.A. Fleury, which is that it seems like those monstrous pads actually get in the way of his ability to move more quickly than it seems like he does. Once he's really down on the ice, he seems to be screwed as far as getting back up is concerned.
That said, he probably played one of the best games of his career last night, so we'll see if he has finally figured it out. That also said, the defense wasn't that "great" last night, to me. Strome made a rookie mistake toward the end of the third period, which was followed up by several more mistakes by those who are not rookies. When you are jammed up in the defensive zone, the only two people you should be looking to pass the puck to are Mr. Boards and Mr. Glass- it's basically the same thing that has been happening all year; it's just happening for three minutes a game now, instead of forty minutes. When they can eliminate that altogether, then they'll REALLY be good. |

Solid for us ...he's very dependable d-man. If only we had avoided once again a crappy November....even had we won half of that mess we would be in good shape....we are gonna need some help from other teams for sure now, as good as we have been playing we are only keeping pace....lets hope the Caps and others get into a funk like the Leafs. But its sure nice to get some wins and good games to watch |

I would rather have rangerdanger here than you. At least he talks about the islanders without posting a troll comment every second. You are clearly only a troll, so please continue to post stupid things on dee's blogs. Speaking of stud d-men, how has Del Zotto been? |

Team is playing great right now, reminds me of last year but they sure shat the bed for too long a period this year and it might cost them a shot at the playoffs They just got to keep it going |

Calling it right now, Nelson scores 20 goals next year. - Isles_since_6
I wouldn't be suprised if he scores between 15-20 goals this year... |

Like I said a few weeks ago the Islanders were due for a run which they are doing now. Need to get to .500 as soon as possible and then see where they are at...Garth has a tough decision regarding Vanek...I would think he'll trade him if he can't sign him at the deadline. - kear20
You have to. I don't care where they are in the standings |

I mentioned before/earlier into the season that Brock Nelson will be our next STAR in the making.
Very good skater, has size, high hockey IQ, plays D, good hands, vision. When he fully develops physically, he will become even more of a force...
Nelson reminds me of a mix between Brindamour - (play) & K. Primeau - (size)

Sucks when you criticize a player and they have the game of their life right afterward
I'm not sure Poulin's as good as he showed last night. Definitely has sizable holes in his game, but definitely potential too. Some more time will tell. |

For some ungodly reason when he scored I heard Paul Heyman's voice in my head saying, "Braaaaack Nelssssson!!!"
Really like his game. And with him still just developing, you have to believe he has the potential to become a really solid player. |
