i thought it was my duty to point out since everyone seems to be saying they would be happy with second and third round exits
just a gentle reminder - Dozzer
I think it would be nice to get to a 2nd round sometime soon. |

Franson, Raymond, top prospect for Girardi - Mapleleafs_91
I like Raymond, but I think you have to trade him.
No way he signs for peanuts again.
And you can't guarantee he'll have another good season like this one. |

The best thing Nonis could do right now is MAJORLY shake up the defense. When i mean shake up the defense, i mean obtain more defensive resonsible defenders like a giordano like a girardi, etc. .... the offense can wait - Mapleleafs_91
The cost would be high for those guys and Girardi is a UFA. I would trade Franson straight up for him and that's about it. |

He's a UFA in 6 months.
But he needs to be tops on the leafs list. |

I usually ignore your posts as they are always trades and 400 iterations of the lineup or defense, but come on.. these imaginary trades you come up with are tiresome. nobody wants crap for quality |

I don't necessarily agree that it's Nonis' fault. He came in and the team performed well enough to make the playoffs.
It's difficult for him to turn over the entire defense at that time. Granted he isn't excused from making some gaffs like selling players high ala Franson or Fraser but seriously tough to turn over the D after the playoffs. - Aaron85
Im talking now though, how can fans see the leafs defense is no good months in advance and can see that the leafs will falter? Leafs management are very slow reactors, they take forever and then find themselves in a hole getting deeper and deeper when they had the option to fix it well before. Now we are in a big hole. We are out of a playoff spot, the defense is utter ass, and our goalies are being misused. |

can we make gardiner a winger so we dont have to watch him in his own end?
kadri is still on pace for 50 points in his first full season
franson will be stupidly kept due to his right handed shot
seriously.. we'll be looking at a top line of stajan poni and blake II in 2021 or so - Dozzer
It worked so well with Ian White... |

Many thought that referee Kerry Fraser should have called a penalty on the play, but Gretzky was not penalized, and he went on to score the overtime goal moments later, evening the series at 3–3. He would score three goals in the deciding game to give Los Angeles a berth in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in franchise history and also the first time the Kings win a playoff series against an Original Six team. Gretzky has been quoted as saying that his performance in Game 7 was the best NHL game of his career.

Yeah Nonis is in a position I don't envy.
I'm sure after the playoffs last year and Rogers/Bell being able to milk it for 7 games that they want to see it again so he's got to try for it.
On the other maybe a step back somehow will take you two steps forward.
Tough place to be. |
