Fair deal!
- whipper334

Then we can trade Bernier to Edmonton for Nurse, like the Schneider for Horvat deal?

This might sound a bit homerish given the attitude on here...but I think when Bolland gets back into the lineup this team will play a lot different...who knows...they might win some games.

The flyers have a different make up of players.

This team's core already went through a coaching change a few seasons ago. How many more coaches need to be hired/fired before people start realizing that it's the personnel that's the problem....not the coaching staff...

how do we get to the point where we get new personnel?

When you've just signed the "core" over the past 2 seasons to long term deals (or traded for them in JVR's case) I think you look outside the players for the time being. I would say Philly's skill level of their players is similar to the leafs so I don't see it being that much different.

How do you go to the owners and say "Yeah we just gave 15 million a year to Kessel and Phaneuf but we're going to trade them. Don't expect any playoff revenue for the next 5 years while we play our AHL team and use our first rounders."

I doubt Rogers and Bell bought this team to see it go through another "rebuild".

Besides didn't Ottawa or NJ go through a few coaches in quick succession? It happens. New business or company holds onto a guy to fire the entire team under them.

I don't think the young coach I run triathalons and eat fruit and fart positive energy thing works either.
- TheTaoOfSemenko

It depends on the scent of the positive energy.

If it smells like lavender and butterflies wings, then maybe it works. If it smells like poo, then it just smells.

i think making trades is not even a short term fix, you just plug the new players into the system and fail on.

desperation trades now tells me Nonis is blind to the huge underlying issues

- senstroll

I agree with that as well.
Firing the coach tells me the same about Nonis considering all the big moves he made were for the coach.

Luongo would be a rock star here!

Yes, I've officially lost my mind! But at least I haven't traded our firsts!

- senstroll

You trade a few pieces to try to shake things up. You don't 'blow it up', but just enough to send a message that the coaching staff is here to stay....

My point is very simple. Most people on here were saying THE SAME THINGS about RW a few years ago...this is a cyclical conversation with no end. And it seems everytime poop hits the fan with this team, leafsnation unanimously points the finger at the wrong group (mgmt/coaching). It's on the players. It has been since before RW was coach.

if you keep making moves to build the team around carlyle, and carlyle's system sucks, (which we know it does) - its out dated - then what? you have already removed grabovski, macarthur, frattin, liles and whos next? reimer?

this team is being gutted because carlyle doesnt like player X,Y,Z

- big_dion

keep bringing in "Carlyle" type players.. Fraser, Mclaren, Orr, Clarkson

They did.
But Fraser cost them the chance. You simply let Wayne get to a game 7 against the Leafs.
