Is there any way of him coming back this season?
- Mapleleafs_91

Short answer: none.

If you aren't signed to a deal by a certain date (iirc, sometime in mid-December) you can't join a new team. It's in the CBA.

the goalies haven't played barely 20 games...I would hope it's not that

How about the Leafs suck, they have no toughness in the top 6 other than maybe Clarkson when he plays there...we need more guys playing for contracts and less of what we have now..Phaneuf signed - Kessel signed - JVR signed - Bozak signed - (frank) they got nothing to play of now...need about 3 or 4 fast/solid Marlies to come up and try and make an impression for about 10 games...and sit the guys who look like their not trying...I don't care if we sit Kessel - Phaneuf...do something (frank)!!!!

edit: I'm out...going to look at some NHL jerseys...some new colours...bleu blanc rouge????????????? Nice new 76 Subban

- Garnie

I wouldn't, they are not a fun team to watch right now, nor will they be fun to watch in the playoffs.

My 2 clear choices are Doug Houda or Hunter. Anyone else just keep who we have.

no fresh perspectives and a coaching change has NEVER turned the fortunes of a club around ever.

you're right.. there are no examples of that...

He wouldn't be joining a new team. Hes allowed.

(I could be wrong)

ROR joined the avalanche, he just would of had to go through waivers to join Calgary

there has to be a start. and admission of the problem.. firing the coach may do nothing, but it sets things in motion.

short term...great.
And then next season the players fall back into this again.
So do we fire the coach again?

It appears you are right, as per rule 13.23

13.23 In the event a professional or former professional Player plays in a league outside North
America after the start of the NHL Regular Season, other than on Loan from his Club, he may
thereafter play in the NHL during that Playing Season (including Playoffs) only if he has first
either cleared or been obtained via Waivers. For the balance of the Playing Season, any such
Player who has been obtained via Waivers may be Traded or Loaned only after again clearing
Waivers or through Waiver claim. This section shall not apply to a Player on the Reserve List or
Restricted Free Agent List of an NHL Club with whom the Player is signing an NHL SPC or is
party to an existing SPC with such NHL Club.

If we win, sure. We'd be an absolute joke, but a winning joke.

But seriously, this is a good point, its a very fine line, we don't want to become the islanders lol

Someone with a system that might click with the talent of these misfits - it sure has happened before. We know the current plan isn't working.

Im not GM and neither are you. So neither of us have made the calls to find out.

But the same was said about McCabe, Toskala, Blake etc.
There's always someone!
And if you cant trade your "core" players....move out some supporting ones that havent been successful.

The coach will not be fired until Nonis makes a trade or two for some back end end help. If he cant do that and his back is up against the wall....then I can see the him firing Randy...but not until then.
