Yeah! Who cares about PCS and the hundreds of lawsuits! I need more violence! - PhillySportsGuy
The players don't have to play the game. They CHOOSE to play. Without violence, sports would be like watching wing bowl. |

Education is warning the players of the dangers, and allowing them to choose not to play and make millions of dollars and score some of the hottest women on earth. Or hey, you know, they could always work the drive through window at McDonalds and maybe bang the fry girl on the weekends.
I'll take the brain damage. All day long. |

Laughton Simmonds and Morin would each fetch a 1st round pick. That would make 5 first round picks. |

And the draft you want them to be in is 2015 & that will be a deep draft. Keep them & develop them |

I think it would be fun for teams to trade 1st round picks straight up before the season starts. Like a competition. |

Probably not. Schenn is already a top 6 forward. Laughton would be a 4th line center right now. Morin is a long way away. Schenn is the more proven commodity, so his value is higher. Morin has a lot of volatility. Laughton is a pretty safe bet to be a very good defense center man who can score at least 40-50 points. |

the whole voracek/couturier/schenn and two first thing was too much even for weber. but two of the forwards and 2 firsts to me, while maybe too much to make it worth it, seems like right around fair value for the superstar d. |

Yea. I've never been a fan of trading multiple players for 1 player. I'd rather have two 2nd line players than one top line player. (Unless the top line player is a superstar). I believe depth wins in the current NHL. Having a great top line is good but having 3 good, two way lines is better. |

yeah thats about where i would be with it as well. so substitute schenn for the other two. i would have done schenn, simmonds, and two firsts for weber if i was homer. definitely a tough, painful call to make. but i think i would have. that supposed third forward that was being called for would have been enough to make me balk though |

Maybe. It's a ton to give up and you're assuming a ton of risk. You're putting all your eggs in one basket. They got burnt by the Pronger deal. |

i understand. im typically inclined to agree. but in this scenario, weber IS that superstar. he's still young enough to give id say at least 5 more solid stud years minimum. |

hundred percent agree. its a ton of risk. but to me, the pronger deal is a deal you make any time you can. injury was horrible luck. you guys got to the finals. to me, weber could be that springboard again. and i believe weber is younger than when you guys got pronger? not a hundred percent offhand, but that makes it even better.
there definitely is no right/wrong answer with that much value involved on either side. i just think i would have. if you moved schenn/simmonds. you still have giroux/voracek/couturier to be your forward studs. weber is as advertised. top 5 dman in the league. not only does he bring himself, but he enables everyone else to take a step back. coburn can be an awesome second pairing guy instead of being counted on as the main guy. the entire d improves. |
