Leafs are so mentally weak. Who is the veteran they can rely on? Phaneuf? At least the Flyers have Timonen…for now. - PhillySportsGuy

It's hard not to argue that blogs have already surpassed the major outlets when it comes to quality of content and analysis. - Tomahawk
Major outlets have to write on the assumption that the reader may not even hold a high school diploma. In the traditional sense, you have to dumb it down a bit if you write for a newspaper because your audience is wider in scope, in terms of their education.
If a MSM guy did a series of articles on CORSI, for example, he'd put a good part of his readership to sleep.
Bloggers do have the luxury for deeper dives into subject matter without having to worry about catering to the least common denominator. |

They don't have to write above the heads of their general readership... maybe just catch the difference between correlation and causation when they theorize about stuff like Claude Giroux's ice-time. Or get basic facts right.
Even commenters on blogs, not even the bloggers themselves, are capable of picking apart their arguments and assertions without looking too far below the surface. |

I find Lup's way of carrying himself with the media very good. And from what we saw in 24/7 he seems leader-ish in a way I wouldn't have anticipated. Someone in that on the Toronto end mentioned him as a possible future C, but that was before the Phaneuf extension. |

And the guys in the traditional press have the luxury of at least having a copy editor, but they're so sloppy in their content. No one pays fact checkers any more (except guys who write books and want to be sure they're accurate) so check your facts and make sure you're not telling the wrong story (poorly). |

The only Leaf interview I saw after the Leafs got killed by the Rags the other night was Loops.
He sounded like a man that had played in places where he'd gotten booed by the home crowd before..... |

If Winnepeg is getting ready to move Buff and Kane... I dont know how you dont take a stab at them both. Who the hell knows what you would have to include in the deal though.

And next year when Kimmo is gone you're still down a D man and now down a bunch of assets too. |

Easier to pick up the 2-4 d-man in FA then a number 1. Maybe Markov will be available. |

We may yet go after Markov anyways, if Timonen retires. We'll need defensive d-men to pair with Streit and Markov, if we do go that route.
Coburn-Markov
Grossmann-Streit
Schenn-Gus
Plus Morin, Hagg, Laughton developing and on the way in 2-4 years. No need to blow the bank for Buff. |

Steve Mason is 10th in the league in wins right now. Only people with more wins are pretty good goalies. |

I've never seen anyone consistently post trade proposals that screw the crap out of the Flyers, by a Flyer fan.

I don't think there are enough 1st-round picks and former 1st-round picks in this proposal. If they really want to get serious, they'd send them the Schenns, Coots and the entire scouting staff as well. |

Fair deal...if you're trading players by the pound.
Otherwise, that's quite a bit of future you're giving away. |

I hope the Flyers take this opportunity to play McGinn on a regular basis while Rinaldo is out, let's see what the kid can do. Is he good for only a few games or can he hold down a spot on the big team. |
