By the end of the 6 six I hope McGinn is playing on 2nd unit pp in a Simmer role. They really need a net presents and McGinn seems to have a noise for dirty goals

McGinn had been getting PK time in Adirondack. Newbury hadn't. So McGinn gives them more options, especially if another forward gets injured during a game.
- bradleyc4

I didn't expect it to be McGinn, but I didn't know he had been killing penalties. I thought they saw him as a top 6 guy only going back to this column from October.

I'm thinking Bill ended up slapping Mason across the face. No one gives Bill a quizzical look.

Bill, did you make him apologize afterward?

Does it have something to do with the noise presents?

The last noise presents I got were those damn thundersticks at an AC Bullies game years ago.

I really like what Mason has done for the team and for his career -- I respect guys who take "prove it" contracts and then go out and then do just that.

There's still some season to go, and from what I've read, Paul Holmgren's not going to give out too many years on Mason's next contract, which is totally fine. There's no need for five, six years. Some wouldn't even consider three or four, which I also understand.

But I'm not one of those guys who keeps telling myself that what I'm seeing isn't what I'm seeing, after I've observed a guy enough. Mason's been nothing but strong for the Flyers, and as you said, I just don't worry when he's back there.

I can't remember the last time I've said that -- now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I never really have, though I will say that I thought Roman Cechmanek was a better goaltender than he got credit for being and had he been a better teammate, I would have been curious to see what he would've done for a few more years.

- AllInForFlyers

I agree with a lot of what you're saying about Mason, but I'd still really hesitate to invest in anything longer than a 2-3 year deal at this point, even if it means having to swallow a bigger cap-hit to limit the commitment. There's just too much potential variance in the season-to-season performances of all but the very top-echelon goalies -- I'm not ready to project Mason as a year-in-year-out .925 guy yet, no matter now well he's helping me forget the last Bryzaster.

The problem with Bryz was consistency...never knew which Bryz you were going to get-and not just game to game, it was shift to shift.
- Jsaquella

When the game was on the line, or the game was tight, you could always seem to count on Bryz to crap the bed. And you could almost always count on him to turn one bad game into string of bad games.

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist (well, I don't HATE it actually) but I have had high ankle sprains and they are incredibly painful and there is no way a player could be walking around, laughing and happy after a game in which it occurred.

Why do I feel like in the next few few days we‘ll hear how he sprained it at a bar or falling down the stairs...

Is it even guaranteed that McGinn gets into the lineup over Rosehill?

I dont know. Its very possible that the pressure of the skate kept the ankle from swelling during and right after the game, which would have kept the pain down. It is also possible that ZR could of had a shot to numb the pain during hte game. Either way its possibe the severity of the injury might not have been realized until the real pain came when either it began to swell or the pain meds wore off.

Something is definitely odd about the situation. So while Zac was being interviewed and the now famous boos for booze line was created, he was hurting the whole time? Quite the trooper...

This is the theory I've read the most about why no one knew about Rinaldo's injury until the next day.

I can buy into this if it was a mild sprain...a true, high ankle sprain is a debilitating variety. This is not some minor swelling, but your ankle looks like it swallowed a football.
