Aside from the tiebreaking issues, it doesn't bode well for a team if they need a shootout to win over a third of their games.

Agreed. I'd rather they just forfeit the shootouts because I can't stand those heart-breaking shootout wins.

Yeah but if they make the playoffs, at the end of the year, it doesn't matter how they made it. You're there and that's it.

and once you're there anything can happen, look at the Bruins last year, they were on a huge losing streak going into the play offs and ended up in the SCF

All i'm trying to say is that if a team is going to succeed in this league they need to be able to win hockey games by actually playing hockey.
