I'm basing it off the roster and my opinion on what the talent level of this team is...
- twiztedmike

It's unheard of for a Leaf fan to think their players are much more talented than they are.

This fan base is bi-polar. It should be expected that the lows and highs are to the extreme

To be fair, I was female doging about Therrien when the Habs were winning. And even I think that the PK-Therrien thing is blown out of proportion (as always).

I'm far more worried about Therrien's infatuation with not pissing off his favourites.

Instead of their previous body of work?

Why?

- Pecafan Fan

Well I just don't think Carlyle is getting the most out of his players...

JVR, Kessel, Bozak... they're doing fine

But Lupul has slumped... Clarkson has been poop (and he's potted 30 goals before, he should be good for 10-15 g and 40-45 pts over an 82 game schedule given his past performance, but is on track for less than 10 goals and around 25 points (just extrapolating based on stats this season in my head; (frank) a calculator)... Kulemin's offensive production dropped.... Raymond sucking lately (after a hot start).... The defense being irresponsible.... A goalie controversy which has added much pressure, im sure to both; resulting in absolute stinkers of games between the two.... No fights anymore from a team that used to dominate in this category... Teams not afraid to crash the net and hit our goalies.... Kadri... regressed.

Just seems like the Leafs have pussied out real hard

They set the expectations high after a hot start and now that things aren't going as smoothly, it kinda does put a damper on things and makes things seem a lot worse..

Actually, for me, its the manner in which we lost games lately... the past 2 months its been blown 1/2/3 goal leads in the third (like, last 10 minutes), or a poopty 1st period start where the Leafs fall behind 2/3 and can't catch up, or just absolute poopty games like the ones against New York....

edit: Even with a poopty roster, if you put forth a complete effort and work hard and don't get cocky or lazy, poop like this doesn't happen.

I think you guys know, if you ever read my stuff, that I've never laid it all on Therrien. I lobbied for him to win the Jack Adams award for most of last season.

You don't have to be paid to analyze hockey to see what's happening between him and his players right now.

- EricEngels

Eric being the diplomatic gentleman that you are let me speak for maybe yourself and anyone else who needs to be careful of what they say , I believe that Therrien is POISON and not a good coach , we sometimes speak of players ruining the room and stuff like that , Therrien does not deserve to be coach of the Montreal Canadiens , like I wrote in another post , I 've been a Habs Fan for over 50 years and remember Toe Blake , Claude Ruel , Scotty Bowman and the many great coaches we've had during the years, and we've also had a few clunkers along the way but the most successful ones like the ones mentioned had no ego , they did not put their agenda of I'm the Boss ahead of the team concept and thats why they were great coaches not like Therrien who has an ego the size of the Geodesic Dome at Man & His World ... In my humble opinion Guy Boucher was born to be the coach of the Habs hopefully Mr Bergevin makes a move quickly before all hell breaks loose Pk is the most exciting player to don a Habs uniform since Lafleur, we absolutely need to show him a little respect otherwise we'll wind up losing him like we did Chris Chelios and Patrick Roy, due to bad management and coaching ... Mr Bergevin I seriously hope you read these posts ...

5 regulation wins in their last 30 games? They picked up 20 points in October didn't they? Also, weren't they badly outplayed in many of those games? I think the aberration is the first month of the season.

As for Raymond, he's always been a player that performs well early. As soon as the checking tightens up, he disappears.

because it's easier than admitting that you have a mediocre collection of players. which both Toronto and Montreal do. light years away from contending, both of them.

Ask Carlyle. He probably has a theory involving helmets and head temperature.

I must say that last year's shortened season playoff position couple with their fast start sure raised expectations. Seriously 5 regulation wins in their last 30 games? 14 ROT wins on the season. Where would they be without that early season goaltending?

We don't exactly cheer for stellar teams and both have benefitted from a solid 10-15 game stretch but what the hell would fans say in either of our markets with those kind of numbers?

Who's 25...not 35.

Is Luongo better. Yep.
Doesn't mean he's a better fit for this team.

Raymond is a bit like Kessel in that when Kessel started off here, he was frustrating to watch because he would never backcheck. Raymond is a bit of a floater but he's got some speed. If he used it to backcheck the Leafs would be better off.
