My buddy sent me a text from the game last night that read, "The scout who found Raffl deserves a raise and a" oral sexual favor.
However, I was holding my baby girl and asked my wife to read it for me. She did not find it as adorable and endearing as I did.

I think I may remember reading that the scout in question was Dave Brown, fwiw.

I could be misremembering.

I wouldn't go that far, but he's definitely played a role.

Sorry, I meant you CAN'T look at the scoresheet to gauge Raffl's play. I'm blown away. Yeah hes not the ideal forward for a line rush with G and Jake, but I'll take him in just about every other aspect

90% of it yes. That and its really beneficial when he is playing well. Guss hasn't shown too much to be honest, and gets outmuscles too easily. At 25, his time is now to show if he is worth a longer investment.

If Meszaros can keep up his play, and be a contributor in the transition game, it helps fill the gap on the back end.

On Tuesday night, TB beat the Jets 4-2 on two third period goals by St. Louis (one an empty netter).

The Peg mustered up 2 shots in the first, 7 shots in the second, and 5 in the third for a total of 14 SOG in the loss.

"Certainly for us this is probably the worst we've played," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "It was an empty game. We got very little production in any facet of the game. I don't have the answers."

Despite the loss, no white flag was seen waiving.

I thought Gus had a bad start to the season but started to pick it up right before his injury. You are right about this being his time to prove he is more than a 6th/7th defenseman.

Basically for me it comes down to if Mesz can keep up his offensive production and can keep playing well (like last night). If he starts to falter I wouldn't hesitate to replace him with Gus.

I'm here to eat a little crow... As a man of my word, I said I would if this team turned the season around over the last 15-20 games. Very impressive How team is learning to win close games. This is the progress everyone was looking forward to with the young players. Hope everyones holiday season was good. Mine busy as usual. Italian families what can I say

Gus looks so good at times then so bad at other times. It's a large adjustment for him because he needs to learn how to avoid taking big hits. He leaves himself vulnerable quite a bit.

On the one hand, I wish he'd stop writing and, well, being a public figure all together. He kinda creeps me out, actually.

On the other hand, I do sorta miss reading Sam Woo's crazy Devils posts.
