I'm going to go ahead and say the biggest reason for the turnaround has been the play of Raffl. You can't look at a scoresheet to gauge his play. He brings a lot of the two way ability cooter has. It's like another cooter on he ice. His work in the d zone is fantastic. His hustle up and down the ice makes that 1st line a tremendous 2 way line.

Well when i asked why the flyers were dominated his explanation was pretty much cause they didnt win 6-1.

I wouldn't go that far, but he's definitely played a role.

Well I wouldn't go so far as to say the reason....

I'll phrase mine this way:

There's a strong correlation between the play of Hartnell, Simmonds, Schenn, Giroux, and Voracek since Christmas and the Flyers' recent hot stretch; Raffl has indeed been a sort of glue on that first line. The chemistry is there and suddenly that first line is not defensively inept.

There's a strong correlation between Giroux's physicality and play away from the puck and this winning streak.

There's a strong correlation between this hot stretch and to the team's not-so-newfound mindset of "never say die".

There's a strong correlation between this hot stretch and the team's penalty kill.

There's a strong correlation between this hot stretch and the defense chipping in some offense.

There's a strong correlation between this hot stretch and the team's ability to pass the puck like NHL players

Finally, I think perhaps the best sign that this team is gonna keep this up is the fact that Luke Schenn logged a secondary assist to Mezsaros' primary, with Rinaldo scoring. THAT right there proves to me that this team is firing right now

He fits far better than I thought he would, coming from that 2nd tier league in Sweden he played in.

Oh yeah it was Mez that got that primary wasn't it? I edited...

My point still stands.

Hell Grossmann assisted Baby Schenn's OT winner last night. Looked like Karlsson on that play

Harold Camping was right, we just had a second "silent judgement." The onset of the judgements was Rinaldo's first NHL goal, and the sign of the end was the triumphant trio connecting last night.

My buddy sent me a text from the game last night that read, "The scout who found Raffl deserves a raise and a" oral sexual favor.
However, I was holding my baby girl and asked my wife to read it for me. She did not find it as adorable and endearing as I did.

On Tuesday night, TB beat the Jets 4-2 on two third period goals by St. Louis (one an empty netter).

The Peg mustered up 2 shots in the first, 7 shots in the second, and 5 in the third for a total of 14 SOG in the loss.

"Certainly for us this is probably the worst we've played," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "It was an empty game. We got very little production in any facet of the game. I don't have the answers."

Despite the loss, no white flag was seen waiving.
