I really like the NO ties to Buffalo aspect of it . I will give him a chance .. Not 17 f'n years though.

The no ties aspect is really appealing for a rebuild.

So, say GM Murray decides not to bring back Ted Nolan as Head Coach.

Who would you like them to hire?

My Choices:
1. Mike Keenan (Currently with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, KHL)
2. Marc Crawford (ZSC Lions, NLA)
3. Craig Ramsay (Fired from AC in FLA this year)
4. Randy Cunneyworth (Rochester Americans Special Asst)
5. Scott Arniel (AC, New York Rangers)

Sounds like 50- 50 Nolan stays.
- SABRES 89

Axing Nolan would squander much of the goodwill the Sabres have recovered from the long overdue dismissal of Darcy Regier.

Tim Murray understands this, and also knows that in the short term the team lacks talent and that Ted Nolan has proven to be a good coach for a team that is short on talent.

I say Nolan stays for a couple years and will be given a chance to prove his mettle once Murray has a roster in place of his own design.

Good points .. If Nolan is axed , it would have to be during the off season when the attention to the team is minimal.

I like the Ramsay idea.. He had Atlanta on the right track and the jets didn't give him a fair shake.....Maybe Cunny as an assistant.

Definitely a doubled edged sword... They also have a lot of goalies in the pipeline now that they will have to make decisions on...miller stays they may want to start moving a few of them....enroth, Hackett, knapp, ullmark makarov, at least a have to have some value
- aschwach

If Miller stays you can rest assured that Enroth gets dealt, in my opinion of course.
Oilers look like the prime location for Enroth's services.

It's a tough call. Pegula will throw big money at him. Will he bite?

If it's Ryan's last contract I think he'll want 5 years. But you're right on the money, I see him signing for 8 per esp if he has a big Olympics.

Ray Bennet (assistant coach in St. Louis) or Scott Niedermayer would be my two choices.

I'd be surprisingly okay with that. Considering we have to spend money somewhere, I'd rather it be on a great goalie than another Leino.

Plus with Lundqvist's new deal. Miller (and some around him) thinks he is the same caliber, if not better. The thing he has against him is that he is 4 years older than King Henrik.

I prefer a coach with some fire and passion behind the bench please.
Not a guy that plays the lead role in "The walking dead" marathons.

Niedermayer will stay and eventually take over in Anaheim. No way he leaves IMO.

Personally I want someone will NHL HC experience.
