Dual citizen. Happens all the time in the Olympics. Ever take a glancing look at the US track team?
- mayorofangrytown

So why couldn't coots represent the US if he choose too later on?

I realize that but didn't Jsaquella say that once you play for one country the IIHF does not allow you to play for a different country?

Somebody refresh my memory why the entire building boos Subban every time he touches the puck. I remember it had something to do with Richards. Crazy that the fans don't let it go by now whatever it was. Matt Cooke was barely even boo'd at the Wild game last month...

Whoever posted that Couturier article about his penalty killing, thank you. He really is a monster on the PK

Apparently he gave Richards a ton of crap when Subban was a rookie, no respect for anyone on the ice.
Maturity level mostly...
His before game interview was actually very well done before this game.
And I'd take him on the team

Would you trade Giroux and Voracek for Crosby and Neal?

I think Rinaldo tried using as many cliches as possible in that interview

Right-handed, can skate, can think offense and play physically?

I'd have that guy's kids right now, if it was physically possible, if he wound up in Philly in the next two years

Intermission report:

TSN says: "Ok. The Flyers look pretty good."

That was pretty much it for Flyers analysis--talk then moved to Subban's and Murray's coverage failure on Rinaldo goal followed by criticism of Lecavalier.

A chance to get the best player in the world who is a proven winner?

I love watching Giroux and Jake play but I will drive them both to Pitts.

Really don't understand Canada's love affair with Roberto Luongo. Remember at the last Olympics how poorly he played? Brodeur had to come in and bail him out.

Actually, in Nedved's case, an exception is made because there was no Czech Republic when he played for Canada. The fall of communism and his defection from Czechoslovakia meant he couldn't play for that nation, so he used his Canadian citizenship to play for Canada.

After the formation of the Czech Republic, he and others were permitted to reclaim their nation for international play.

However, under IIHF & Olympic rules, a player can only play for one country in their sanctioned events-which means that once a guy plays for a country, that's it. Which is why Couturier is ineligible for the US, despite dual citizenship

Canada played horrible all tourny and got lucky when it counted (and yes I am a Canadian). If Crosby did not score that last goal regardless if they win or lose everyone would of questioned his play. That why it is so risky/a must to bring Knuitz.
