Are you high? My point is Holland shouldn't be on the 4th line and getting 4mins Per game. Toronto rolling 3 lines is going to come back to burn them in the long run. McClaren and Orr should never play together, EVER. - blahman20
speak slower.. sometimes they dont get it
guys.. his point is holland is being wasted playing 4mins a game on the 4th line, he cant help the leafs from there so the leafs might as well send him down where he will get minutes and continue developing without getting stale. |

Hollands numbers were pretty damn good for 12 mins per. |

If he's playing second line minutes hes worth the pic, if he isn't he is not.
Make sense? - Bigzby
So he's never gonna make this team??... |

Point per in the A, is what in the big league. Ryan Strome was tearing the A a new one, and has been just OK in the NHL. - bixll
I wouldn't compare the two, Strome is an elite prospect, more in line with Kadri...and is being eased into a top 6 role with the NYI.
With Ashton, its more a Alex Killorn type of development I'm hoping for. I'm encouraged by the 10 goals in 14 gp, Shows the numbers he put up at Norfolk a few years back weren't an anomoly, I'm hoping it's like a lightbulb has gone off in his head or something, like most bigger wingers who take longer to develop. Do I think he'll be a top 6 forward? No, do I hope he can be an asset in our top 9 or even 12, yes. |

It makes sense, but he should be getting more mins than he's been getting the past few games. I'm not going crazy over this, just would have given Holland more of a shot to prove himself further after he showed he can produce in the NHL, albeit in a short amount of time. |

thats simply not true at all
you guys put WAY too much stock in first round picks.
being drafted in the first round means a guy is likely to play in the NHL.. it doesnt mean top 4 d-men or top 6 forward one bit.
one of the most common misconceptions about drafting. |

The mentality of MLSE is the leafs are not rebuilding...so yes...they shouldn't. - Fakepartofme
I understand that, and its obvious, but its headed that direction again |

There is no way Bolland is going to sign an extension with the Leafs. Right now he is sitting on his couch thinking there is no way he wants to be a part of this perennial train/16-wheeler wreck. Also knows that if he does come back this season that the fans/media will be expecting him to be the saviour and turn the teams fortunes around. Bet he is making sure that ankle takes it sweet time to heal so he can avoid that unwarranted pressure. |

holland was 15th overall in the first round.. ashton was 29th overall in the first round - Dozzer
in the same draft as Kadri (7th overall) and guys we saw last night lie De Haan. Like I said, I hope it's a case of Ashton improving. |

holland is waiver exempt..makes it an easy choice. |

I thought Carlyle always had the philosophy: If you're playing well you'll get the mins, if you're not playing well, you won't, doesn't matter who you are. I guess his thought process has changed. |

Kadri may not have a place on this team in the near future.
We actually have center depth for the first time in a long time.
Would I like to see Holland play and Kadri sit a few, yep.
Do I want that poor kid playing with Orr and McLaren and we give up a 2nd for that, nope. |

kadri hasnt proven himself to be a consistent top 6 guy yet.
de haan? from the islanders? different situation altogether... holland would be getting real minutes over there as well. |

I would have liked Toronto give Holland Kadri's mins for at least half a game and see what he can do. Kadri played decent last night, first time in I don't know how many games he's actually competed and just given the puck away every chance he can get. |

yes it was random. I was thinking of ways this team could improve outside of recalling Ashton. Thought of Bolland, and then realized he likely has very little desire to re-join the team at this point in time. |

you did watch last nights game right? kadri was one of the leafs best players
nearly 80% on the draw, two points.. forechecked AND backchecked like a machine.
kadri is a better player than holland.. far more skill.. holland will likely bloom into a nice 3rd line centre.. kadri's ceiling is top 6 all the way

I just don't see the point in losing the pic to play him with those 2 plugs.
Maybe we don't draft anyone and trade the pic at the draft like last year. |

1 good game out of 10 doesn't mean anything to me. Let's not forget that Kadri is bottom THREE in entire league in face-off % for qualified players. |

bolland wont resign here unless there is some huge improvements
same with kuli
mcclement likely as well..
why would they? the coach is a task master, the media is intense, and the GM is going to try to lowball them so he can make things work under the cap after signing our "core" group of guys |
