Look how great they are now that he's gone. I honestly didn't expect so much out of them last season and this season they are looking tremendous as well.

Need to replace Teemu and Saku though going forward.

- Aaron85

thats because BB has the will to adapt his systems.

its not just a good idea anymore.. its a must in order to survive in this league.. the way teams are scouted nowadays if you stick to the same thing the flaws become apparent and every team in the league will know how to beat you.

you have to continually adjust and adapt the game plan and stay ahead of the scouts who are watching you. the faster a team can adjust their game, the better they will do in todays NHL

so speaking of Rick Nash...
- TheTaoOfSemenko

A 4th line of Nash-Tavares-Marleau might help to remind him that he doesn't suck.

Canes can put them in 9th place with a win tomorrow night...They on a 4 game win streak...
- Fruitcakenipple

Leafs could end up sitting in 11 place after tomorrow night...

it was a short season.... they miss the playoffs if its a full schedule.

the leafs are at 44GP with 21 wins

if they win their next 4 games (not likely but follow along here) they will have 25 wins in 48 games

1 less than last year

you can scream all you want but the simple truth is the leafs are exactly the same as last year, the difference, the other teams have improved their weak areas.. while all toronto did was get rid of servicable guys (well mac wasnt going to resign with carlyle here anyways, yes, he actually said that) with more expensive slower versions

hate to break the news to ya guys.. but the leafs are basically just as productive this year as they were last year.

- Dozzer

Not to mention a tougher schedule because we play the West teams too

I believe no trade or individual player will change the team.

RC is part of the problem if we need an excuse but the team certainly looks lazy out there.
Last year it seemed they had a real fight in them when they were down a couple goals. It looked like they just didn't want to compete in the third.

- Aaron85

This is exactly what I was saying a few posts previous to yours.

The Leafs this season lack the energy and fight that helped carry them last season. That type of game was far more entertaining to watch than some of the garbage we've seen this season. At least with last season teams had to pay the price and if the Leafs lost it was more acceptable than opponents walking away unscathed barely breaking a sweat some nights.

When was the last time McLaren, Orr or ANYONE ELSE snotted someone defend a teammate, provide an energy boost, swing momentum, send a message or rally the team? Seriously, I can't remember...

well.. they employ a bunch of girls in their early twenties... those feta barrels are as big as they are.. i always tell my gf and her mom not to let them do any heavy lifting and i will come do it after work

those girls will eventually hurt themselves.. and we will be dealing with workers comp. by having me do it we negate that risk.

Maybe they're satisfied with making the playoffs last year. Fans are in trouble if that's the case.

I'd like to see Nash with Getzlaf/Perry or Toews/Sharp

Also you're one point ahead of me in the HBSL....

Leafs about to hit the ice for practice. Carl Gunnarsson (elbow) and David Clarkson (foot) were out skating alone earlier. They're back on ice.

I read your post and I was just too lazy to quote it

I agree with it. It's like we are missing the "spark plug" player like Komorov played last year.

He may be replaceable with a cheaper version but we just need that version! Our pricey version in Clarkson isn't working.

It's true though, if they're not doing things like that, then they are even more useless. We don't need a thug line then, give the 4th line speed and grit with some younger guys that can actually play and keep the puck in the offensive zone

What if YOU hurt yourself though? It could still be as bad.

Leafs lead the league in fights this year. it was never the factor you guys made it out to be last year. that's not what toughness is.

right, and the leafs are at 47.. so if the canes jump the leafs they push the caps out first

moot anyways.. if the leafs keep on going the way they are.. no playoffs.. and an early patio season for us
