The real question about the Leafs is why have they deviated from what made them "successful" last season?

Last season the Leafs had WAY MORE grit. They were more physical, more aggressive on the PK and guys like McLaren, Orr and Fraser were laying beating downs on a nightly basis, ultimately making opponents hesitate and think twice, giving our offence more time and space to produce which also makes the goaltenders' job easier (builds confidence)... NONE OF THIS IS HAPPENING THIS SEASON... N-O-N-E!!!

This season opponents are happy to play against the Leafs because we have become soft and predictable. Nobody has to pay the price against us this season. Teams are pushing us around, neutralizing the production of guys like Kadri, Lupul and JvR, in fact the Leafs have become the ideal opponent to play if a team/player needs to snap out of a funk.

There is an energy that all teams feed upon when an aggressive, physical and "stand up for the man next to you" type game and NONE of that is happening this season.

Where the (frank) did that go?

- As_I_See_It

They decided they didn't have to battle for a playoff spot like they did last year...

not gonna get into the bernier debate today.. he has won the leafs more games they should of lost then he's lost for them.

carlyle is the problem, the transition sucks.. the dump n chase offense as the primary go to offense is absurd. the defense first approach is laughable.. they all just stand there while the opposition cycles the zone and waits for one of the guys to mess up and open up a hole.

I don't want to either. Love Bernie. Just saying last night he drove me crazy. His brain lapses was more than 1 or 2 this time.

it was a short season.... they miss the playoffs if its a full schedule.

the leafs are at 44GP with 21 wins

if they win their next 4 games (not likely but follow along here) they will have 25 wins in 48 games

1 less than last year

you can scream all you want but the simple truth is the leafs are exactly the same as last year, the difference, the other teams have improved their weak areas.. while all toronto did was get rid of servicable guys (well mac wasnt going to resign with carlyle here anyways, yes, he actually said that) with more expensive slower versions

hate to break the news to ya guys.. but the leafs are basically just as productive this year as they were last year.

its a good.. well.. better than their reg. coffee.

i drink coffee black so timmie's coffee sucks... tastes like dirty dish water

i am also a bit spoiled as i get my coffee from Hasbeans in the market at London, they roast the beans right there in front of you... real coffee.. not prepackaged garbage like tims

- Dozzer

I drink mine black a lot too. I stopped putting stuff in it and I realized tim's is poop among many other kinds. I use sugar if I need anything.

Surprisingly though it will never change as last I heard a year or so ago that Tim's has literally 3 out of every 4 cups of coffee sold in Canada.

I miss that market. Great for a wonderful spring or summer walk downtown!

I usually disagree with everything you say (damn Ranger lover!) but I agree. RC needs to adapt or get the (frank) out of town. These are the players you have Randy - figure something out that works because your "system" (use that term lightly) is garbage with this current lineup.

Having to be the only reason ya team can win every game would wear down any goaltender...Games like last night point to a goaltender who's mentally drained, it's time Reimer was given the responsibility to constantly bail this lousy team out..

I believe no trade or individual player will change the team.

RC is part of the problem if we need an excuse but the team certainly looks lazy out there.
Last year it seemed they had a real fight in them when they were down a couple goals. It looked like they just didn't want to compete in the third.

yeah we live right downtown.. my gf's family business is the cheese stand right in the middle (the huge one)

they sell more kinds of cheese than anyone in ontario.. over 500 different kinds at any given time

and i get it for free.. we will prolly be buying her dad's 51% stake within the year as well.. hopefully it will be mostly paid off by the time her mom wants to retire and we'll take the other 49% then.

Isn't that why you have a back up? Give the starter a break anyway?

I was surprised he didn't go with Reimer last night but I can see why. See if Bernier can battle through. Apparently not.

Leafs lead the league in fights this year. it was never the factor you guys made it out to be last year. that's not what toughness is.

its 10 years out of date.

he only made it past the second round twice in anaheim.. his first season and the second year (when they won the cup)

that team was so good you could toss just about any system at them and they would win.

That's awesome!

Mmmm I did a presentation on cheese's while going to Fanshawe. I am fairly certain we bought our good stuff from there!

Congratulations on the acquisition. I own two businesses myself and they require a lot of work but it certainly pays off!

Look how great they are now that he's gone. I honestly didn't expect so much out of them last season and this season they are looking tremendous as well.

Need to replace Teemu and Saku though going forward.
