I watch a lot of hockey. I know teams that put in an effort when I see it, win or lose. The Leafs have had a lot of games this year as well where they won but didn't work nearly hard enough. This team is floating through right now. This team doens't look close to the same as they did last year in term of work ethic, commitment to details, effort ect. They are trying to skill their way to victory and getting beat by teams working harder.

Don't give too much importance to what happened last season.

I know I don't.

Leafs played a decent game last night........... The loss is all on Bernier.

It happens, he's won a few games for us that we had no buisness winning.

Still think this team needs alot of help though.

I'm getting close to joining you on this one. I'd like to wait till Bolland gets back though.

Read my posts above. The older I got and more I played high competitive golf my ethic was not the problem. I needed that ethic when I was 16 not 22. These guys are pros

Sorry, but it sounds to me as though you're saying autopilot is good enough.

I agree, but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that with Bolland it allows him to change his line formations.

Also agree that Gleason looked very good out there. Poor guy was on the ice for a couple of goals that had nothing to do with the defense. Calm presence out there though, good to see.

I always knew Kadri was bad on the dot, didn't realise how bad he was until one of the announcers had said he was 85th out of 87 centres.

Now that is brutually bad.

He doesn't help himself out on the ice though. He gets knocked off the puck very easily, and seems to hit the ice at least once on every shift.

What I don't understand from this years team and last year is this.....

How did they go from being the toughest meanest team, adding Clarkson and Bolland, to becoming......... well this?

fair enough.. i just think its not so much line combos (i already know what he'll do, he'll scratch holland, drop mclement to the 4th and insert bolland between clarkson and kuli)

i dont think the problem is a lack of one guy.. it seems to be dedication to RCs systems.. the players are frustrated.. likely because you have a ton of offensive guys being restrained in the name of defense. a defense that allows more shots than anyone else. thats got to be a tough pill to swallow for the players.

agreed.. however, in fairness to him.. he was one of the few leafs who actually had a good game last night.. hard on the puck, good on the dot, two point night.

its just lost on us because it was still a bad loss
