Bernier has been given a couple months to lay claim and you've seen in the last two games what has happened when he's had to deal with a significant work load for the first time in his NHL career...

If he laid claim to it why did nonis deal for Bernier? I know it's hard for us to admit we don't actually run the team but the guys who do do see it the same way as we do. They weren't confident in reimer thus they made a trade.

I don't know if it's a lack of confidence or just the simple fact that Bernier doesn't have the ability to stay focused but you can't allow a soft goal almost every game you play and be a successful NHL starter.

They traded for Raycroft and Toskala too... and gave away Rask... just because some guy is the GM of Toronto, doesn't mean the decisions made on player personnel will be at all correct...

I'd say there's still a 50/50 chance the Leafs make the playoffs. But, as with Ottawa, Carolina, or whoever else takes the last wildcard spot would just get slaughtered by the Penguins or Bruins anyways.

Nothing special? He's the main reason we are actually in a playoff spot. Reimer played great at the beginning of the year as well. The goaltending is the only reason this team has a any points.

Agreed. But if we assume his career flames out, it will be along the lines of a Lalime/Raycroft.

In fairness to Bernier, if his career goes well, it will follow the path of... any good comparables? I can't think of a good one off the top of my head.
