I don't think it's overall skill or what type of year they're having. I think seabs and dion would have made it if the Olympics were in North America. But I think the big ice and how slow both Seabrook and Phaneuf are, was probably the deciding factor.

Is it just me or is Bouwmeester really overrated? I know he is a good player, but team Canada? What has he won? What has he proved in the NHL?

The only thing he has accomplished is being drafted high. He is playing on a great team at the moment... put a guy like Dion on the team and people would have a different view....

he got 6.5million because of his big point producing seasons.. he has regressed offensively ever since.. and now he is approx. a 35P guy who is an average shutdown defender at best.

How the hell does St. Louis not get on this team? You want fast guys on big ice! He has wheels! He has been there before and is a proven winner!? I just don't understand this. This is the same as the world junior disaster... they looked over some of the best and highly skilled junior players on the planet and then couldn't score in the big game
