I'm okay with this. It proves what I've been saying since the trade was made, that Bernier is no better than Reimer, and the trade was moot, at best, except Toronto gets the added bonus of more used cap space including retained salary on the trade. I don't hate Bernier at all, it's the club that I'm critical of.

The Leafs are kind of in a jam with Reimer. They've all but declared Bernier the starter, but they can't trade Reimer just yet.

Honestly, if they aren't going to use this tandem properly, they should probably just let Reimer go and try to earn his next contract somewhere else rather than jerk him around. But Bernier is nowhere near ready enough to go dumping the only security blanket we have left in goal.

It's one thing to allow a nightly softie when you still have the inside track on the #1 job. It's another thing entirely to allow bad goals once you are the only option left. The pressure gets turned up big time.

Perception can change within a matter of minutes in manic-depressive Toronto. It's eaten up many a player before.

I really hope Toews gets the C.
