See my line of thinking is that a lot of these guys are getting paid WAY under what they are worth based on the current and forecasted market. If all of their contracts were up at the end of this year, most of them would be getting 7 if not more.*

I think Phaneuf is over-paid now, but if he keeps his level of play at what it is or gets better. It will be a salary right where it should be.
