But a question: Does human activity contribute to a changing environment?

I will say that I believe we have an impact, but its a small impact. I dont believe we cause "climate change" as much as we contribute to it. Climate has always changed. The last 1000 years have had a much more mild climate and less shifts in climate then the typical changes before "man". If man wasn't here there would still be climate changes... see Ice Ages...before and after.

I also believe that America isnt the only "cause", and Americans have it so good that most of the time we create our own problems to worry about. Do you think anyone in Mexico cares if the average temperature is up 1.2 degrees since 1908? or the ocean level is rising at .2 inches per year? Nope.

How can you not respect a guy that eats, breathes, and lives his job 24 hours/day?

I totally respect him for that.

The only reason I don't "like" him is because he doesn't wear orange/black.

Hmm. Not sure what that is supposed to mean. I'm a conservative, not a republican. I don't let religious beliefs interfer with my government views. For example I could give 2 poops about gay marriage. IMO governement shouldnt be involved in anyones marriage... straight or gay. I dont give a crap about birth control.

I grew up Catholic, and believe it or not, the Catholic Church does believe in evolution and a spiritual interpertation of the bible. They teach it in our schools. I once asked our Bishop why they dont talk about it chuch and only in school and he told me because the older generation would find it hard to accept the change in thier beliefs so they are teaching it to the younger generations that way it will be easier to change later... when the older generation is gone.

So on both fronts.... I am very huge into science and will likely be a science teacher or a history teacher when I get back into teaching. Or Math. You better hope I dont become a literature teacher and make the future generations read Animal Farm instead of Catcher in the Rye.

Ok... Religion...check. Politics... check. Might as well add, Go Penguins to piss off anyone I havent already.... and to include hockey in this post.
